"No, I do not support LGBT and never will. That doesn't make me a hater. I too wish to see these characters change for the better, and the inclusion of LGBT in what's supposed to be a show for children did - in a way - provoke a response in the form of this sort of fic. It kind of did, you know?"
Your liver is probably ruined by now given that in the four years since this thing was posted, LGBT characters in kids shows, movies, books and video games have only increased and Christian fundies no longer have the power to stop it like in the Reagan-Bush years.

"Christians are actually heavily persecuted in certain areas of the world and while they might not be openly attacked in the US that does not mean that Christianity is free from hate. In fact there have been increasing moves to restrict Christian beliefs in the modern day. Thankfully not to an extreme, and not as bad as other examples of religious persecution".
So, just answer one thing, do you equal being called out for using your religious belief as an untouchable shield with the divine right of disliking people with a different sexuality with ACTUAL persecution (such as murders or kidnappings)?
Also, what moves to "restrict Christian beliefs"? Forbidding them from being discriminatory or trying to put their holy book above the law? A "belief" that indulges in thinking a person is bad for whatever they do in their intimacy does not deserve any respect or protection, the USA and most of the world aren't theocracies.
You just read like you're playing the victim as the other persons who argued with me did. So, just because Christians are persecuted in some parts of the world, does that give them the holy right to persecute others for their sexuality or for other things that they consider "sinful" or "inmoral" and no one is allowed to question them, because if anyone does, they're "infringing their free speech" and "persecuting their beliefs"?
"I have not read this fanfic, I looked at the comments to see if I should and your replies come off the wrong way. As in they read the same as the rhetoric you are supposedly against- that being intolerance. You advocate for people’s opinion to be silenced and call people cowards for not using their real names. Change the target of your comments to anyone else and see if the language is still acceptable- this goes to anyone who has something to say. You are one of those “triggered snowflakes” I am sad to say, though that does not mean that the other side can’t be the same".
Well, tolerating intolerance is simply impossible. The instant Marv Argon decided to post his rant because he got angry at a kids show showing a lesbian character, he engaged in intolerance, it's just that simple, the same goes for those who staunchly defend this rant in the comments. Opinions from hateful people deserve no respect or protection, and I clearly wrote that those who peacefully disagree with the LGBT community should not be attacked. Actual extremist cranks are another thing, you can't oblige me to respect, for example, a full-blown homophobe, in the name of "freedom of speech". I'm sorry if the fact that I don't like those who don't leave a name to reply to bothers you so much. Welp, nothing says "triggered snowflake" like getting angry and offended by a cartoon for featuring a lesbian couple and then writing a hate fic portraying one part of that couple as an evil drug-addicted slut, so...
"I hope you and others, both those with similar beliefs as you and those with the opposite view, will take my criticism to heart and we all become better for it. Respect others for their own opinion and restrain criticism for their work, not their beliefs or person.
Note that I do not have an account, I’m a casual reader, and I just wrote this long comment for the world to see. I am not a coward, and neither is anyone who has the guts to post their personal beliefs in a landscape as toxic as the internet."
The thing, dear, is that the beliefs ARE the work, so there's no way to separate them. And no, saying "they're my beliefs" doesn't make you immune to getting criticized if those beliefs involve thinking another person is "evil" for their sexuality (or their race, gender, country, etc.) nor means I have to put up and shut up with them. You can have the personal beliefs you want and like, the fact is that they will never be above reality and you don't have a "right" to impose them over other people. If you believe putting LGBT characters in kids cartoons/movies/books "infringes your beliefs" and "persecutes you for being Christian", well, tough! And, by the way, I'm not going to deny that there are extremists or absolutists within the LGBT community or other minorities, those are wrong too, so... whatever.

Soo, a homophobic person offended a show showcasing LBGTQ as humans whilst crying discriminations against Christains even thou he lives in a country where Christains are given the most advantages and get way with facitlites with that torture LGBTQ youths. Whilst at the same time being prejudicial and writing a fanfic about a show with two gay dads and Bi girl.
Christianity is no reason to be a snow flake from one non-American Christian to another.
Also the bible says to love one another, never judge.
PSSSS: Also the bible is mistranslated the passage was more "Never lie with children".
But I guess being hatefull and using god's name in vain is a favorite tactic.
Grow up snowflake

Hey Tristan. I saw your comment here and in another fanfic and I cannot help but pity you. Christians are actually heavily persecuted in certain areas of the world and while they might not be openly attacked in the US that does not mean that Christianity is free from hate. In fact there have been increasing moves to restrict Christian beliefs in the modern day. Thankfully not to an extreme, and not as bad as other examples of religious persecution.

You are one of those “triggered snowflakes” I am sad to say, though that does not mean that the other side can’t be the same.
Ultimately, it was your attack, not criticism, but attack on the author, not just their work or beliefs, but their person that inspired me to write this. I usually don’t do this but I am fed up with seeing comments like this on a site that is meant to be enjoyable.
Before you dismiss me as some “right wing nut” or something, I am also including some jerk who is attacking an author for simply being Russian. Their comments are far worse than yours and are disgusting and cringe to read, on a related note I must thank you for at least trying to remain cordial.
I hope you and others, both those with similar beliefs as you and those with the opposite view, will take my criticism to heart and we all become better for it. Respect others for their own opinion and restrain criticism for their work, not their beliefs or person.

No, I do not support LGBT and never will. That doesn't make me a hater. I too wish to see these characters change for the better, and the inclusion of LGBT in what's supposed to be a show for children did - in a way - provoke a response in the form of this sort of fic. It kind of did, you know?
Hey, just saying.
I will concede, though, that stories like these have such developments happen too quickly. I haven't given up on Christianity even though I'm currently going through my own crisis of faith, but I can confirm from experience that people do not change as easily as depicted here.
If the author could read this right now, I'd want him to know that I still like the very idea of the story but feel at the same time that there's more to be done. It's good, but it could be better.
Quick tip: You don't become an angel when you die. Angels are completely different beings from humans.
(Despite my misgivings for One of the Boys, I can't help wondering how these scenarios could've played out for that gender-swapped universe.)

And, like I said on my first comment, neither you nor Marv's tears will prevent the series from having Luna and Sam being a couple, regardless of your religious derangement. :D

Welp, my point is proven. Mr. Noname and this story are on the wrong side. TLH is better off without the newly-converted fundie Savino. Have fun being homophobic, and, my name's not Louie, you POS.

Then I'm glad Savino is banned from ever returning to TLH, he would likely use it to push fundie propaganda and to ram scripts like this crappy fic into the series.
Oh, and I'm sure Mr. Noname literally refreshes the comments everyday to see if I reply to ''instantly'' reply back with bizarre shit. Tough luck, I'm right and the story is wrong.

Of rather interesting note, Chris Savino himself of all people has claimed to have become a born-again Christian in recent years since certain actions that wrecked his career and life.
Is it legit? Only time will tell.

Wow, so my comment actually got into you and you're now throwing a tantrum over what you think I said. I thought you had simply ignored it. Let's see:
1- Yes, I am a PROUD "crazy" liberal. I'm not wrong in saying the phrase is stupid, and the creator of the phrase is a smug piece of shit who does not deserve respect.
2- As the title of the article says, Richard Spencer is a fucking WHITE SUPREMACIST. Sorry, but he DID deserve to be punched. By "anyone who promotes hate speech should be punched" I was referring to fucking extremists like him or the people who were allegedly banned from their bank accounts, NOT all conservatives or people that respectfully disagree (they're still in the wrong, but if they're not outright batshit insane they shouldn't be harassed). And I never said anything about altering the first amendment (which by the way, does NOT shield you from criticism nor the consequences of engaging in hate speech).
3- When did I fucking call for Marv to be jailed for writing this? He has the right to write whatever he wants, but if you write something hateful and derogatory don't expect everyone to clap at you. He did not call for the death of gays, but he clearly thinks they are nothing but sex and drug-obsessed maniacs who need to be "cured by Jesus" as far as this story goes. That's called homophobia, whether you agree or not. The guy also made homophobic remarks on TLH Wiki which he has since deleted and the story was written as an inmediate response to the episode "L is for Love" that revealed Luna likes Sam. Stop strawmanning, I'm not calling for altering the fucking constitution.
4- Milo Yianopoulos is another piece of shit who goes to colleges to intimidate and target students who speak out against him by having his fans harrass them. You defending him and portraying him as a poor victim is really pathetic. As with Shapiro and Spencer, Milo does not deserve respect or to be tolerated, thank goodness he has since gone away. And yes, I approve of him being silenced, what's the problem? Hateful assholes don't deserve any spaces. Read the article about him on Rationalwiki to see why he's an asshole.
5- Religious fundamentalism is still a bad thing. And if you dismiss RW as being "biased" you're showing how ignorant you are, since if they are "biased" that means logic and reason must be "biased" too, right? And even if they were, what I quoted from there is still correct.
6- Some churches being vandalized does not equal persecution, and btw vandalism and even killings in synagogues and mosques are far more common. Bottom line, "persecution" as in forced dissapearances, mass murders, destruction of landmarks, etc. does NOT happen in the US. If you think you are being "persecuted" because someone calls you out for being hateful and shielding yourself in "they're my beliefs" as a guy from the wiki called curious poker chip likes to do, then sorry, but you're just playing the victim.
6- Finally, I laugh at your last statement. I'm not from the US so I have no responsibility for what happens there, and the country is already on a dark road thanks to Trump, hate crimes have been on the rise since he was elected. But of course, you probably sympathize with that and believe liberals are the real problem that should be exterminated. To cite Trump himself, that's SAD!
So, you and the other nameless guy that calls me "Louie", you're in the wrong, the story is in the wrong and your beliefs are in the wrong. It's really funny how these kind of people like to portray liberals as "triggered special snowflakes" and then they prove they ARE the snowflakes since they feel the need to play the victim and have a clear persecution complex.
Like the New Radicals said, you're gonna get what you give. Let's see what you reply, ok thx bye.
