What a vibrant and profound work of literature. I haven't read anything this sedulous since "My Immortal." I think that you should explore some of the subtext present in the books to weave in a narrative showing Jaime and Geralt developing a more intimate relationship. This would compliment the scenes between Jaime and Illyn Paine in the 5th book. While I am Ecstatically awaiting the advent of the next chapter of this serious, I also hope that at some point we see more meaningful deviation from the books.

Gaunter O'Dimm, after meeting him in Witcher, I can easily say he is one of the most powerful fictional characters to exist.

Gaunter O'Dimm. I did both ending with him. I preferred beating Gaunter O'Dimm at his own game. He didn't seem to be very angry about being bested by Geralt.

The Weavess, a lose end I wish we could have felt with in Witcher. Cause she got away and stole Vesemir's medallion. She will be an issue.

Sorry for the late review, but here it is.
Geralt being careful in King's Landing is a vast understatement. Varys and Littlefinger have spies everywhere. I can't imagine him doing ANYTHING without them being informed of it especially now that he continues to make an impression for either good or ill.
The only thing that bothered me in this chapter is how you continue to portray Robert to Geralt. Robert is quick tempered sure, but I feel like he is getting too angry too often. Robert knows that Geralt is not from Westeros or Essos and has other things he wants to take care of. That Geralt has swore no vows or oaths of allegiance to him or Eddard so Geralt refusing Robert should not have made him that upset. Disappointed perhaps, but not angry.
Tyrion's remarks on the gold that could be won in the melee is spot on. Geralt could use that money for virtually anything. Anything. However since Geralt is likely to be aided or supplied by the Starks or the North throughout his journey I imagine he will use the gold to fund the Night's Watch. God knows they need it. Of course he could use it to stock up on any armor or potions he may need as well.
Overall I really liked this chapter. The characters were in character, the dialogue between Jaime and Geralt was a treat and you continue to be consistent with why Geralt is in King's Landing in the first place.
By the way it is refreshing to see that someone read the books. That bit of "evil is evil" from The Last Wish was well done and well placed in this chapter. However I do want to say that in that same book even Geralt says to choose the lesser evil.
Anyway keep up the good work and God bless you.

In my opinion, you should include another witcher in the story. The perfect choice would be Letho of Gulet. He is the only one witcher who was equal to Geralt in strength and intelligence. And unlike Geralt, he wouldn't mind working as a sellsword or assassin. Letho could be an excellent opponent or ally for Geralt.

gaunter's presence bodes nothing well, others might not have the sense to avoid his deals

i imagine that geralt wouldnt get along with the many faced god or the fire worshipers, he tends to have problems with those who would burn others at the stake

its good that tyrion got a chance to be badass as well, hopefully geralt's presence will make catelyn reconsider her wild accusations

shame that bran didn't end up sticking to the lower towers like geralt said, i wonder if its remotely possible for his medical knowledge to help or if the concoctions will only do more harm
