Well this was an interesting prologue.

An absolutely fascinating look at the sheer horror of developing a powerset like Inque's! I actually rp a DC character with similar powers and reading this is a real boost to getting into character every time.
The mother/daughter Inque family dynamics are perfectly written, the scene is compelling and all in all I can't wait to see where you take things!

This is made far less horrific if you've read the comics. Where it was revealed that Inque became the way she was when trying to seek out a cure for a fatal diease she had.
A 'hereditary' disease. Of which she 'was' cured in the process. And in the comics the only 'cure' that INque had found for when Deanna eventually started displaying signs of the sickness, was the feed small amounts of herself into her daughter regularly.
