i needed SO much more whump (actual good, realistic, serious whump) from this show... [sigh] ah, well. at least i can get it in fanfiction. ;) again, this is fantastic. you have such a perfect take on these characters, and your writing proves that again and again. can't wait for more! x

Awwwe! Father-Son bonding time! So cute! Especially when Shawn is barely conscious. *evil manaical laughing* I do love me some whump!
Super Story, as always.

Loved the allegory reference, loved the bonding, loved the whump. I think maybe you could have played into themes of the allegory a bit? like, maybe juxtapose the difference between the perspectives of Shawn and Henry? Show how Henry can learn to understand Shawn's perspective by considering his situation, and vice versa? I don't know, you picked a really good metaphor and I feel like there could be a lot more you could do with it. I'd actually be really interested to see a couple more chapters symbolizing Henry and Shawn coming out of the cave and reaching a higher level of "enlightenment" or, in their case, empathy.

Wow! You're right, you did put this out super fast. And it was great! I agree, I love the father-son bonding, too. And I loved the comparison between the dog house and their relationship. So good. Keep it up, and I look forward to the next one!
