Poor Ron. Sounds like he went through hell. I know they'll let him go. Just hoping Hermione and Harry can understand and accept him back.

Really intense - I thought you handled Tonks and her reactions really well. As for Ron - having Voldemort curse his eyes and blind him to get what he needed because legillimancy failed - that is a horrific and inspired twist. I am guessing he is really missing a leg as well. I think you really brought out his courage and loyalty to Harry and his willingness to endure anything to protect his friends. He will be shattered when he finds out what happened to his family. Looking forward to Harry and Hermione's first meeting with Ron.

Really liked the appearance of the memories. Hate that Tonks has to go through it. I understand Kingsley's hesitance. The trial should be intense.

Dear Windschild,
A couple of things. First, I love your stories, especially your understanding and portrayal of Ron. The premise of this one in particularWhat if Ron never came back?-is very interesting, and I'm excited to watch you explore it. This last chapter, for instance, was amazing.
And this leads to my second thing: I do not read sexual threesome fics, and am therefore hoping that your saying it will look like friendship is accurate. Unfortunately, as soon as I notice threesome rolance, I will feel morally obligated to stop reading. I feel it only right to give you fair warning of this, and was wondering, since you say you prefer writing friendship anyway, if you would perhaps reconsider making this romantic at all. As I said, I'm really enjoying it so far, and would hate to have to stop reading.
Thanks for writing, and sorry for the long-windedness,
Sophia the Scribe

It's perfect. Almost everything I needed. But maybe don't rely too much on sympathy? I don't know. This is going well though. Can't wait for the next chapter.

I really enjoy this story. You captured the characters well. Can't wait for more and just so I know, have you given thought to ending Accident Companions or is it a special time ending?

Okay.
Can I just... Can I build you a shrine or a temple? Or hug you?
Because my God this author's note is the greatest freaking thing ever. (please don't write smut oh god don't write smut because smut is so painfully awkward and cringy most of the time)
I hate hate hate it when people forget to remember that Ron's insecurities are actually well-founded (Least Loved tore my heart out by how... true it is, and we have TONS of canon evidence that show how Gred and Forge delighted in tormenting Percy and Ron specifically) and that it is NOT wrong to seek approval and attention (not in a Malfoy way of course).
Re-reading the books, you discover how JKR suddenly decided to screw Ron over as soon as Goblet of Fire. When the Dark Mark is shot into the sky, it's Hermione - muggleborn Hermione, who had no idea about the meaning of the word 'mudblood' - who identifies the Mark and is visibly pale and terrified, instead of Ron, whose uncles have been murdered by Death Eaters and whose mother has probably told him how foul that symbol is.
How, upon Ron becoming a prefect, Harry sulks in jealousy (wow, you'd think after winning the Tournament he wouldn't care about that) and Hermione babbles 'he's done, uh, I dunno' (saved you from a troll by using Wingardium Leviosa in an intelligent manner while you cowered in the corner? reminded you you were actually a witch who could set fire to a teacher but forgot to do it on a plant? sacrificed himself so you could progress? defended your honor, humiliating himself in front of the Slytherins and Gryffindors in the process? and those are only in one book and a half!). How bloody Dumbledore tells Harry 'oh don't worry it was your prefect badge but you know I thought you were too busy' (wow thank you I sure hope Ron never heard about that because if his self-esteem wasn't too great then it most definitely got into the negative billions by now).
How Ron's Patronus was never mentioned in book five because Hermione's and Cho Chang's are more important. How he was never authorized to surpass Harry, even in one subject. How he is actually quite intelligent and emotional, hiding it all under goofiness and bursts of temper. How Hermione is actually pretty rotten to him: okay, he called her a nightmare and said she had no friends. Back in first year. After that, he praises her intelligence constantly, even when he teases her. But the festival begins: over the course of the seven books she calls him a pig, an idiot, a prat, says he's the 'most insensitive wart [she has] ever had the misfortune to meet' (WOW, and people are wondering how he believed she preferred Harry? yeah after hearing that one I think I get how), tells him he has the emotional range of a teaspoon (and they say Ron is the tactless one? wow what a joke), PHYSICALLY ABUSES HIM WITH HER BLOODY BIRDS AND WHEN HE COMES BACK IN THE HUNT (proving to us that the brilliant and sensible Hermione Granger actually has the emotional maturity of a toddler) - holy shit the list is way too long but yeah basically Hermione is maybe juuuuuust a little bit of a bitch sometimes.
Especially considering how he tried to make his feelings known to her - the perfume for Christmas, anyone? The way he always compliments her or defends her when Harry slips into 'it's-all-about-me' mode?
Yeah, Ron can be a bit insensitive, he doesn't get emotional subtlety, he screws up, he makes messes, he fumbles. But he owns up to his mistakes. He understands them. He FACES them. He has enough balls to admit he's been stupid and that's something few people realize how much courage it takes. And yet her Highness Hermione can't be bothered to acknowledge that, because she's always right. Harry Potter can't bother to point it out, because oh well, it's not like Ron needs to know that without him they were barely able to function properly because while it's great and all to have a fuckton of knowledge handy and a magical destiny, it's no use if you don't have someone that makes you enjoy life and keep you sane.
... Wow I kinda went overboard with this, didn't I. I'm sorry!

Love how Hermione handled this situation. I'm thinking Ron is this Spitfire the man was speaking of.
