Will you have District 12 gain a Victor?

This chapter was really, really good. Seriously, I loved reading every part of this one. Your quality of work is truly ever higher, I would say. :) For starters, Panem having a President who is not a wretched monster is a very welcome change of pace in my opinion. It's refreshing indeed to see this President treating the Districts as something other than a slave nation. That said, the fact the Hunger Games are still a thing is obviously cruel, but such is Panem. A cruel place. T_T

Hospitals have always had a bit of a creepy nature to me, perhaps due to a certain body horror film with a mad doctor, or maybe just how clinical, depressing and quiet everything is... but in any case, this arena was a highly chilling thrill to read about. The ghost mutts were seriously gruesome and mysterious, certainly making an impression on me. The atmosphere in this one was very well done. Utterly unsettling. O_o

Poplin is easily one of my fav Victor ever at the moment. I mean, a boy scoring a 0, being 13 AND from D8... like you said, it's insanely unlikely but seeing it all come together here was amazing to watch. I figured that being a historic first would spare him past the bloodbath at any rate, bu seeing him go on to win with his plan of pretending to be a ghost mutt was a true stroke of genius. Easily one of the most fun, unique Victors thus far. The post-canon era just gets better and better with every chapter. I'm glad D8 finally won again. :D Now if only D9, D10 and D12 could catch up. We all know a certain future Quell is going to really wreck the District with the fewest Victors. T_T

Also standouts:
Merisela: You'd think by now that Careers planning to ditch the pack would be be a bit more careful with their escapes. T_T
Keith: This poor, poor boy. Being haunted like that sounds horrifying. O_o
Lizbeth: Poor girl, going through such a grim, grisly and scary journey only to die from Poplin's dagger. She fought well to survive so long, but alas, only one Victor. T_T

Excellent work here. :) And as can be expected, I am veeeeery hyped to see the next chapter. I think you know why I am possibly the most hyped person to see the 83rd Hunger Games. Hope to see it soon! As it's a retelling of an already written story, I assume it'd be easy to write? In any case, I eagerly await it. :D

Can you allow pairs to win? There's a nicer president and I'm sure it's possible if the tributes don't want to be involved in a rebellion.
2/12/2019 c83 6TheNoobyBoy
YAS!

I cannot wait to see how Orford is described in it xD.

I like Poplin... little badass!

Yo dude is it the guy who got a 0?
2/6/2019 c82 TheNoobyBoy
Uh, did this guy score a 12? Maybe...

Finally, I forgot four were careers for a while.

Not a bad chapter all in all. Always nice to see this story update, especially as in a post-canon era every chapter is full of mystery and wonder I'd never see coming. Broken gave some hints, but once we pass Games #83 the mystery is gonna be awesome. :D 'Til then, I liked this chapter. Nice to see the new president isn't a complete load of human slime, though one would think the Capitol would realise the entire reason they have to deal with riots, rebellion and all kinds of nasty problems is basically the fact they are treating the Districts as a slave labour force. It'd almost funny they can't realise, or accept, all the issues they face are 100% bought onto themselves lmao. In any case, nice world building section per the norm. :)

Cool to see an arena within a volcano. In honesty I might have been planning this terrain for a future chapter of cheating death. ;) A simple arena in spite of the lava flow, but I'd say it worked with what this chapter was going for. Action and quick thrills. The dragon mutt wasn't quite as ferocious as I had expected, but other than that the arena was a decent one to see the Games play out in. :)

I have to say, I hadn't realised just how poorly D4 had been doing in the Games recently. Annie's win feels like it was ages ago tbh, so it's nice to see Talisa broke the streak. I'll admit that she didn't exactly jump out and whoa me with being unique the same way Victors like Router, Surge and Struve did, but the dragon fight was certainly some really cool stuff. :D As soon as she won that fight I knew that Talisa had it in the bag.
Also stand-outs:
Royal: I can't deny it, his death was dumb to the point of being hilarious lmao
Calandrus: 11 scorers always gain my attention. Alas, he should have looked down. T_T Close but no cigar.
Safiya and Winter: It was sad seeing them become close after learning of their relation and dying. The poor pair indeed. :(
Rishi: To be perfectly honest, coming into this I thought the beanpole was going to win lmao. He was great in the short time he lasted.
Roark: I just felt so bad for him, honestly. T_T I'd love to see another D8 Victor soon as it feels like they're shaping up to be the weakest District, even moreso than D12 (who waited less time for their 1st and 2nd Victors) and D10 (who at least occasionally have a tough tribute). #JusticeForEight
Jonny: Honestly, everything about him made me feel depressed. :(
Vieve: Again, her tale was a sad one indeed. Poor little gal. :(

Good stuff overall. Naturally I am veeeeeery hyped for when we reached the 83rd Games. Just a bit of bias, you could say. :D But I am very interested in seeing the oddly scored boy next year. Real talk, no matter what District he is from, I hope he wins. XD

Knew Talisa was going to win. I simply knew it.

Now, on this chapter. I thought that it was good. The whole dragon and the volcano idea was a interesting combo.

One thing. It's about District Three Male Septon. Pretty sure that mean's priest in the song of Ice and Fire series. And it's a huge coincidence since I got a little religious character on my SYOC like that from District Three.

I just found Septon amusing.

As usual, a good chapter. :)

I have to say, it's always great when the Capitol fucks up and having the arena be leaked all over the place due to a gal trying to impress a boy online is honestly a great form of hilarious. I'm certainly a fan of this kind of silly blunder lmao. Interesting, and logical to, to see Turner's Law get passed. Of course, I don't doubt that more leaks and blunders are merely inevitable sooner or later.

A simple arena really as you said, but I for one appreciate simple arenas and I feel this was a fairly good one. A meadow full of snakes... on the one hand pretty basic, but honestly it's a very workable and relatively interesting concept if one were to ask me. In any case, the fact so much of it caught ablaze was cool to see. :D

Not overly much to say on Tarquinius really, aside that his name is seriously awesome. :D Just another brutish Career overall, albeit one that really set quite a milestone for D2's Victor count. Typical D2 warrior overall, but as it'a been a while since we last had a D2 brute I can take it.
Also stand-outs:
Zion: And the Whiniest Bitch of the 80th Hunger Games Award goes to...
Cyndala: Nice to see her showing mercy... too bad it got her killed though. :(
Tallie: This poor girl. She was fun and seemed really sweet. Alas, she trusted a Career AKA something no Outlier should ever do!
Danube: Given she was so tough and merciless I find it to be a dark sort of comedic she died as she somehow did not see Shocker coming lmao
Shocker: He had been my winner pick honestly. The flamethrower idea was really, really cool. A shame it didn't work how it was meant to. RIP
Annabelle: 12 year olds scoring high is always great to see. :D
Lissa: A fun and spirited tribute. A shame she died in the end and in such a curbstomp as well. D8 seems to be destined for failure. T_T
Dillon: Quite simply I liked his alliance with Lissa. Funny how he was all like 'is this the part where we kill each other' lmao.

Good work as per usual. Looking forward to seeing how the next decade of the Games shall begin. :D

THIS CHAPTER WAS PURE GOLD!

First and foremost, YES! THE SNAKE DEMON IS D-E-A-D! You told me you had a horrific death in mind for Snow and you certainly did not disappoint with this. Pardon the language, but holy fucking shit. :O This was utterly brutal, even by my standards lmao. Like... gee wiz, death by being eaten alive via mosquitos is just revolting to even slightly think about. And you know what? It's 100% deserved after all the agony this monster of a man has caused. A shame the rebels who did that were killed, but in my book they died as true heroes. :D One can only hope this new president won't be anywhere as vile as Snow, but as we have somebody by the name of Talen in charge in Broken, it leads me to think Cassia will not last long in her position.

I fully admit to being a complete and utter 'Potterhead' so naturally this arena is perhaps my overall favourite thus far. Seriously, this was awesome. I know you've done castle arenas before, but this is easily the best one. I mean... it's Hogwarts, that speaks for itself. I had nothing to hate and everything to love about this one. Filch being a mutt is borderline canon lmao and everything with the rules about attending classes, doing homework and having magic made it thrilling. What a brilliant idea! _

I really liked Kacey. Certainly a Victor who possesses plenty of qualities I like when it comes to a survivor of the arena: sweet, loyal and even protective of the younger tributes, an underdog against the odds and rather emotional. Suffice to say, she was a lot to fun to follow the journey of. What a fine victory for Ravenclaw House, and certainly impressive that she was able to overcome Daeron in the harsh, difficult final battle. One can only hope she gets to keep her magical powers for life after the Games, huh? Live long and live well, Kacey. :)
Also stand-outs:
Pharaoh: I must say, his death was really memorable and kind of crazy... anbd honestly, now I must wonder why nobody in the HP books tried doing that lmfao
Daeron: Certainly a cruel, vicious brute of a boy. I'd say that he really would have made a great Death Eater in another universe lmao. It took me off guard that he lost, actually, as I had honestly forgot about Kacey's brief appearance in Broken tbh
Rubix: I found him fairly cool an d enjoyable. tbh I wanna read his novels lmao
Patchwork & Satin: These poor smol kids. I feel bad for D8 really. It just sort of feels like, at this point, they are having even worse luck than D12 does. :(
Nelson: Him being the mayor's son was pretty neat. Alas, he should have studied riddles better than he had. That, or just ran from the statue.
Jacoma: What a total badass beast of an Outlier. Honestly, I thought she had a serious chance to win this thing. D10 seems to generally do bad and every so often have a serious contender, and I thought she was a possible winner. Alas, not so. Still, the way she killed Pharaoh was both sick and genius. GG, RIP
Beckett: Nice to see somebody from D12 go far for a change. I liked his pragmatic style and how he was quite the fast, opportunistic sort of tribute. Has Haymitch not been established as still the only living D12 Victor in Broken I'd have thought him as another contender.

Absolutely amazing work. Great stuff! _

This was one of the best chapters of the story thus far! I really, really enjoyed this one an absolute ton. Starting off, the world building at the beginning continues to be impressive. The horrible gas weapon was certainly one pure evil device, one that is befitting of Snow due to how vile of a human being he truly is. Certainly one grisly weapon to try and end this rebellion, though I have to wonder, speaking of powerful weapons... what is D13's role in this story? After all, there's nothing to suggest they are all dead / have been forgotten about by the Capitol. I ponder the chance of them firing off a nuke at he Capitol. Part of me hopes that, by the time of the 1000th Games things may be so bad that they actually 100% obliterate the Capitol lmao. That would be kind of epic. Until then, the world as it is right now continues to keep me invested. :)

Not the best arena I've ever seen, admittedly, though the bizarre colour scheme was a nice touch to add to it. Overall I'd say that the tributes were easily the main appeal here rather than the arena. Regardless, the overall creepy feeling and how... off this one was certainly added to the atmosphere.

I have to say, I did NOT see this outcome coming at all. I assume that either the baby tragically dies, or leaves with his mother... the fact Snow was so heartless and disgusting to refuse to let Cynthia leave with her baby... bastard. Regardless, the fact a 4 day old baby won is amazing! Like, holy shit, I have never seen this happen in a HG fic before. Surge truly is one of a kind. :o Amazing how the mostly vile deeds of some lead to the most wonderful actions of others. It's heartwarming indeed that Surge grew up to be such a kind and wonderful man. Gives one hope for the future of a dystopia like Panem I'd say. :)
Also standouts:
Herman: Randomly love his name. tbh, one would think that Careers would stop sneaking off to hunt solo as it almost never ends up going well lmfao, Get rekt
Theo: What a brave father. He had to know that the instant he volunteered he had agreed to die for his family, no doubts about it. That kind of selfless love and bravery should be remembered. What a brilliant young man. RIP
Cynthia: This poor and badass young woman. A loving mother, a fierce fighter to save her son from a Career and then dying so he could live without any fear or hesitation... frankly, both Cnthia and her husband are legends. Wherever they may be in whatever afterlife there is, kudos to them. It really shows that while hatred and cruelty are strong, love and hope is stronger still.
Oriana: While Herman should have never gone off alone, this gal should have never trusted a Career. Indeed, it's a trend that never ever ends up going well. She was fun in the time she lasted, but let it be a lesson to Outliers... don't trust the lapdogs!
Roscoe: Gee wiz, what a nasty way to die. All the deaths tat follow being trapped for days are just plain nasty. T_T
Corabelle: What a little badass! :D If I didn't know from your SYOT that there are no 12 year old winners at this point in the Games' history I'd have put stock into her being the Victor. Alas, it's not meant to be. Poor badass girl. :(
Mack: I must say, the animal collecting thing was really cool. What a sheer zoo of awesome pets he had!

Awesome stuff per the norm! _

I really liked the part where Tarquinius tricked Tallie into blowing herself up. It's always interesting when career tributes come up with clever plans like that.
