LOXD1 - You have no idea how much I would have appreciated an intelligent rebuttal to all the points I made. Instead, you gave the kind of response I would expect if I were living in the world of Idiocracy.

Sorry, but this version of Harry is obviously being set up to be the next dark lord. There was the foreshadowing dream that predicts what kind of monster Harry will become, his extreme selfishness, callousness, and dishonesty in the present, and a future flash where it is confirmed that Harry does become a murderer.

Daphne thinks she is the one using Harry, but in truth, he is the one who is just using her. Seriously, if he truly cared ‘how draining the spell was for her’ he wouldn’t have taught her a spell in the previous chapter either. Luckily for him, she is too dumb to realize it.

Snape needs to realize that Daphne doesn’t owe Harry a thing. ;-)

I wonder why Daphne got a detention.

Why arent you updating

Daphne actually has the same problem as Harry. She tells herself and her friends that she is just using him. What we are actually shown doesn’t quite match what we are told. She showed compassion and even used her magic to help Harry when Umbridge abused him with the quill. She cried when Harry was sent away to prison. This wasn’t for show, as it was done in the privacy of her own room, not in front of Harry’s friends. She was even genuinely glad to see him when he returned.

Even if the future vision where Daphne talked Harry into actually murdering people for her were actually completely true and accurate (which I doubt it), the fact that Harry let someone talk him into committing murder in no way exonerates him of committing those murders. Clearly, from the way it was presented, it wasn’t an imperious curse.

As a manipulator, Daphne has proven to be incompetent. She couldn’t even talk him into teaching her the Patronus charm.

If this story gets continued, I suspect Harry will continue to prove to be a dick. When he finds out she plans to marry Blaise, he will probably try to force her to change her plans, which he has zero right to do after dumping her. How do you sell that?

“You have to wait until I make up my mind.” Hell no! Of course, this is pure speculation on my part. The writer may have different ideas.

As the other guest reviewer said, if you want to disagree, please state your case. Don’t just call us idiots without making a single intelligent argument of your own.

LOXD1 -

I only halfheartedly defend Daphne. I do see both sides of the argument with her.

As for Harry, we are told he always tries to be nice, yet there is not a single example of him actually being nice in the entire story. Instead, he is shown to be callous, selfish, remorseless and a liar. If you want to disagree with me, then please, enlighten me and point out his good, noble and thoughtful deeds.

All the people defending Daphne wholeheartedly and condemning Harry are idiots.

I do hope you will update again. This is a rather entertaining story. Talk about angst! Enjoying all the craziness involved. Wondering what's going to happen when Harry finds out about Blaise and Daphne and what happens when Daphne's father finds out, too. Should be great fun...

I just recently picked up the app for which allows reviewing the same chapter twice and this is one of those stories I have read multiple times and definitely noticed different things after multiple reads. So that is why I am reviewing this again.

Much of what I was going to say had already been said in recent reviews. I agree with almost everything said about Harry except I don't think Harry's nervous chuckle at Daphne's 'I want to kill you because you made me like this' comment was mocking or ridiculing her. It still definitely added to my disliking of Harry in general though.

Although I don't see Daphne as a saint, I am far more forgiving of what Daphne did wrong in this story than I am of Harry. I feel the ending to the first chapter was basically rape, even though Harry's part wasn't his fault. If I were Daphne, there is no way I would believe that he didn't do it on purpose. He was chasing her around trying to start up a conversation with her and she wasn't having it, then they did it because of the potion and afterwards, Harry ignores her as she leaves crying and he only cares about cleaning up the evidence. That was where I first started to despise Harry in this story. I don't know how Dumbledore could have watched that and it not even occur to him that it might have been a rape, but after Dumbledore covered for Harry when he committed mass murder, I figure he is just going to look the other way no matter what. It would almost serve Dumbledore right if Harry ended up doing the same thing at Hogwarts that he did at Azkaban, but for everyone else's sake, I hope that doesn't happen.

So of course, Daphne wasn't kind to his apology. What was Harry expecting her to say? "You ruined my life but since you apologize for it, that makes it ok!" Ah, hell no, it really doesn't. So, I really don't blame her for attacking him when he tried to apologize. We even know from Harry's inner thoughts that he knew she wouldn't like it, but he cared so little for her feelings that he did it anyway in as public and embarrassing a way as possible. I don't even believe Harry was truly sorry. He repeatably said he did nothing wrong.

Personally, I think Daphne should have gotten an abortion and sued Harry for rape. Because of Harry's utter callousness, I didn't really care that Daphne tried to use him in a false relationship. Story wise, going for a fake relationship was the better choice because it created lots of interesting drama.

In the relationship, Daphne didn't try to get Harry to do anything wrong or unethical, nor did she try to succor him into buying her stuff. All they did was talk and snog. True she and her friends made fun of him behind his back, but Harry never did anything I felt deserving of any level of loyalty from her, quite the opposite actually. For me, Harry teaching Daphne a spell to heal his own hand when he knew full well that was bad for her and the baby, was unforgivably selfish on his part. This was something I only noticed the second time I read the story. I think the first time I read this, I read them too far apart to realize the full implications of that. Yes, I agree Harry's true reason for not sharing the Patronus charm was very selfish, but forgivably so. He doesn't owe it to anyone to share that spell.

As for Daphne's future self, it remains to be seen how accurate that vision really was. We know from cannon that memories can be altered. We know from this story that is true that Daphne is just using Harry. I agree with the other reviews that basically said it seems unlikely that Daphne, who couldn't even talk Harry into teaching her the Patronus charm, would be able to talk Harry into committing murder unless murder meant nothing to him (already proven true) or the murders were really for his own gain, thus mirroring the utter selfishness Harry has exhibited so far when he taught her the spell to heal his own hand.

As for convincing everyone Blaise was the father of her child, yes, I think she shouldn't have lied about that. That was wrong on her part, but I can also understand why she did it. Harry was supposed to be locked up for life, so she didn't expect to see him again and I am pretty sure she didn't want to be a single mother and she also had the wellbeing of the kid to consider. It is better for the child to have two parents.

Now that Harry is back, Daphne should be very careful what she does. As others pointed out, murder doesn't mean a damn thing to Harry and as mad as he is, I wouldn't put it past him to kill Daphne right after the baby is born. I wouldn't be surprised if Harry solves the Blaise dilemma by killing him too. He has proven to have no conscience whatsoever. At first, I hoped for Harry's redemption in this story, but after he blew off mass murder like it was nothing, that is no longer possible.

I agree with all of those who said they would like to see a continuation on this story. Overall this is a very intriguing story that was left in a cliffhanger. It woul

Pick it up again you d***.
No seriously, I was really beginning to enjoy the story when you stopped it. Plus I really liked this obscurial twist and for you to discontinue is just disheartening because this story has great potential. I don't think I have read an obscurial Harry story before. It was a pleasant surprise.
Hope you continue it again.
