although its probably too late, doesnt shirou always take every fight hes been in as if it was his last one? from what i recall, he doesnt ever smirk at all, if anything his character was one that was always gentle and kind unlike EMIYA. Even if this was placed in the future, its still unlike him to smirk as he kills, after all, his dream was to become a hero of justice.
