This was quite a scrumptious tale you've spun. You fit it in nicely into the canon-verse where it sits snug into the timeline that you fitted it. I really liked how you cemented it more-so by ending it off with the lead up to the 100 Year Quest story.
You did a good job on staying as true to the characters as possible to make the scenes and situations you put them in easily believable. I liked the way you presented Natsu's tendencies to have mood swings that can turn on a dime.
One of the things that stood out to me and I appreciated was the brief mention of the tension Natsu and Lucy had in regard to Aquarius and his year disappearance early on. Then you brought it back around full circle several chapters later and they discussed it. I liked the way it was resolved between them. I also really liked the way you depicted their confession of love to one another. You are right that a lot of them in many stories are clichéd or too sappy/sweet that it breaks the thin veil of belief for their characters so much it can make you cringe. This particular scene flowed quite fluidly to me. The tension and worry of losing their close bond is a common theme (understandably so, given their canon relationship and it's easily relatable in real life) for what keeps them from jumping the line beyond friends. The initial misunderstanding being quickly resolved in the single conversation was actually very nice to me.
Overall I liked this story's flow and the way you progressed their intimacy while not making the climb to the peak of their journey frustrating. The snags or interruptions didn't feel forced and had a natural flow for the story to keep it entertaining. All of these things are what made it an easy decision to add it to my favorites list. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this and sharing! I truly enjoyed it.
PS: I agree with you, no, nobody wants an overly fumbling Natsu. I like him as my wild, fiery, hot boy. There's nothing wrong with making some things a little fantasizing. It is fiction after all. ;p
I also wanted to answer your question on how I got into NaLu. I must confess I never caught it with the show. It was fanfiction that got me into the pairing. (I read fanfiction before I got my hands on the manga) A particular StiCy fanfic actually to be exact... Then I became addicted to NaLu. I know, I'm a heathen. Lol!

I love that I can easily imagine this story as an actual arc within the manga. whenever I wanna read stuff, I almost always fall back to this story because not only is it fantastically in character and wonderful, it also let me play a small side game of picturing how each moment would be set up in the classic manga formatit helps that your imagery is lovely. like, for this chapter, I can easily picture the scene of Natsu and Lucy entering the guild hall to the dramatically sparkly kiss. it's wonderful and I love it

Hi! Yeah, really enjoying this story so far!
I know it's already completed, but if you ever consider going back to make changes, I would really add just a few lines here and there to explain what happened to Erza and Gray during that scroll retrieval mission and how they got separated or something.
I can't be sure how it was for the others, but it was hard for me to focus when I kept wondering where they were or when/if they were going to pop up and ruin the moment between Natsu and Lucy.
So just very distracting and needing continuity work.
But other than that so far I'm really enjoying this! You have a good writing style and an excellent grasp of grammar and the English language! It's very refreshing after some of the stories I've pushed myself to read.

I apologize it took me this long to finally review, I haven’t caught up with all the fics and when I checked my email and see this fic is completed I’m SHOOK. This was a very beautiful ride, I applause your dedication upon completing this and thank you so much for your unpaid hardwork, you’re my personal heroThis is a very beautiful piece, one I will put in my “reread” folder and will always live up to my expectations. I also love the way you make the last chapter, showing how this fic is not over yet and there is still the FT 100 years quest manga that continues this. Now I’ll never be able to read that manga the same way I’ve been, but it feels better.
