These yaga are infected with 'shounen character syndrome.' The only way to cure them is to cleanse them in ritual fire, a.k.a., beat the disease out of them.
Though, one's gotta wonder. How did the weaklings of the empire ever manage to enslave so many of em?
Why is shirou dragging the fight? His primary goal is to corner the yaga with no witnesses and seek a collaboration. He has no witnesses from the empire now, so just spam the black knives and pin their shadows? Then talk to the yaga leader?
