I definitely managed to stick you with one of the hardest prompts didn't I? ;P I'll admit when I first saw it myself as I was putting together the list my mind immediately went to testing and/or scoring percentiles, so it was really neat to see such a different use; it's definitely not one I would have thought of.
You carried a quiet sense of tension really well here. Ensam and your unnamed narrator were characterized really well and carried that tone. I know just enough about Jason to have both expected his behavior in some instances, and others not. And actually, that marked difference helps a lot with the tone too.
Nicely written all around. I remember that being a really tough challenge to judge.
