I love your explanation for the Adele/Mitchell/Fintan triangle and for Adele never having unintentionally allowed Sookie to telepathically hear even hints of her true lineage or backstory. That was one of the of many glaring gaps in SVM that really bugged me. Your explanation also gives me leave to feel less resentment toward an otherwise pretty hypocritical Adele.

However, an Adele who would KNOW why Sookie was telepathic and still just stand by & watch her struggle with it without either seeking help from the source of it or telling Sookie where it came from is an Adele who looks too selfish & hypocritical to deserve the usual versions of Sookie’s devotion and tolerance of all of her Gran’s Christian morality based expectations of Sookie when she had committed adultery.)

I know it’s probably unlikely that you’ll correct stories that have been finished as long as these have been, but I couldn’t persuade myself not to point out a somewhat sizable inconsistency I just noticed. I may mention it in a review as well, but only because the FF site seems to be having some kind of issue, again.
(The site is repeatedly reporting that there is something wrong with my email account & so at least some of the site functions like alerts are being turned off so I don’t know if you will be able to receive a PM from me or reply should you wish to. (My email account is fine btw & I have done everything I can find to ensure FF generated emails are accepted to no avail. Emails are readily coming & going from the account from, apparently, anywhere except FF. Go figure.))
The Inconsistency/Discontinuity:
— In CH 13 of The Trunk you have Eric telling Sookie that Calvin Norris was killed months before in a dispute over V (a True Blood like storyline).
— I’m just reading CH 18 of The Boot and there you have Calvin Norris alive & the storyline for him seems more SVM like. Eric tells Thalia that he has called Calvin & expects him to arrive soon at Jason’s house to deal with the three werepanthers stalking Jason who is ‘entertaining’ Crystal Norris as they speak.
Since The Trunk, The Boot, & The Engine are a series, and you completed The Engine fairly recently, I thought that you might still want to consider addressing the lack of continuity between the first two stories. I think there might be one or more other small continuity issues between these two stories that ruffled my slightly OCD brain here & there but, if so, they weren’t glaring enough to create a mental snag that I couldn’t just press myself to overlook, forget, & keep reading & enjoying myself. I snagged hard on a previously dead Calvin suddenly being alive in the 2nd story — hence pestering you. (It’s an ND brain thing. Even after writing & sending this I’m going to have to walk away from The Boot, likely for at least a few hours, to get past the mental snag & ‘let it go’ enough to comfortably go back to reading.)
Regardless of the discontinuity & whether or not you choose to address it, I want to thank you for sharing your stories. It’s a generous thing to put in the effort & exert your creativity far enough to write & share even one story with the faceless masses of the fanfiction world. You’ve written so many stories! For some of us, these fan works are both entertainment & a bit of on-going therapy. The once so promising storylines & characters that began in the SVM books & which eventually devolved into two rather spectacular & infuriating train wrecks with the endings of both the SVM book series & the True Blood TV series, did much more than mere mental ruffling & snags. Both the Eric & the Sookie characters deserved better development & endings & it’s a relief to find some soothing balms in some of the fan stories that offer brighter alternatives, both in development & destinations. Some of you writers in this particular fandom are psychological heroes in addition to writing interesting & fun stories. ;)

I absolutely loved all of this! A more thoughtful Sookie I think is a way better version then the original, in my opinion. She was always too rash and headstrong to a fault in the books. I like how this feels and the relationship between her and Eric. I'm kinda sad she feels she has to keep Desmond at a distance though. I always thought he would be the perfect Supe uncle.

I never thought of sookie digressing as a character. That's something to think about. I always thought it was difficult that in books bill raped and almost drained her and next day he was brushing her hair. Also that Pam and sookie felt it wise to make bill and eric jealous about the shawl. These books have been an amazing testament to my own recovery. I had only recently read her books 8 times. And discovered fanfiction 2 Months ago. I am really enjoying your writing. I always felt with these books that ch was lazy sometimes but also her own personal spin was so fallible with this character. I like how you really created dimension with so few changes sookie could of done. It has given me hope for my own recovery.

I'm surprised Eric didn't use Beehl's house for kindling to help start the fires. even if he had to pay him for it I can see him destroying his ancestral home! I feel for you being in pain. I have to take regular cortisone shots for bursitis in my hip so I know about pain. stay well.

Eric is giving Thalia a "treat" for looking after Sookie. it's good that Jason won't be caught up in all that were panther business. I couldn't really see the point in all that mess. I do like the pace of your writing, we get the full story that way.
