Very engaging story, got me very invested in it and I loved reading it overall.
Definitely had some pet-peeves of mine but I thought the story and characters were more than strong enough to keep me reading. There was a moment or two when I thought about dropping it but in the end I cared far too much about knowing what happens to ever do that.
I did have some issues with the story at times, normally I wouldn't like something so cynically anti-religious, but I still thought the Decum Luna faith and other things in the story were well thought out and interesting. Ozpin I didn't care for in the story, I'm fine with a ruthless Ozpin but not a ruthless and stupid Ozpin. He's all vinegar and no honey, he's not as composed, knowledgeable, etc. as I feel he should be. He's kind of just an asshole and not really that compelling because of it. There's just too much pointless maliciousness and stupidity from him even though I understand this is supposed to be a darker and more cynical take on most things RWBY. And speaking of that, the Faunus. Oh boy the Faunus. I like a lot of the ideas done with them in the story, like them being not allowed in Beacon and there being more actual observable discrimination and other problems. But it was so one-sided and so over the top, especially in the Belle chapters. I honestly just stopped caring and even started rooting against the Faunus just because I was annoyed at how blameless and innocent they are and there's not really another side shown. Even the White Fang, sure Adam goes off the deep end but the White Fang are essentially whitewashed. Especially compared to how every other group, person, and organization is made worse instead. Doesn't help that Blake is also really annoying for a large part of the story, and so is Coco at parts, and everyone just accepts her using suffering as a weapon and having the Faunus be unassailable because they're the biggest victims. I guess it's just my personal politics or distaste for this kind of thing leaking through but Blake justifying everything because of Faunus oppression is annoying.
Still, probably in my top 5 favorite RWBY fics. Loved Weiss, loved the character arcs and the depth and complexity they all had.

Your AN at the start, I have experienced that same thing when writing chapters of a story... I might "yeah, this event generates feedback..." and it does not. Then another chapter and even will generate lots of feedback. readers are weird like that.

You're really making these teachers the least likable versions of themselves, it's kinda degrading the reading experience.
Or are we really supposed to think that something like a violent confrontation was not exactly what they were engineering? Then acting like Ruby has done anything wrong really is incredibly scummy.
