What about the bullying of the Marauders? Or will that be excused once again - as they poor guys have to be kept on their pedestals? Consider that James was obsessed since first year with Lily, stalked other students with a map and his cloak *never* accepted the word NO and bullied her best friend for years.
Normally *all those actions* would have made anyone crept out and calling the authorities.
Not to mention that they willfully endanger the school and the village as they left a werewolf out on the full moon. But yeah, the Marauders are so nice guys.
That's hypocritical. And neither of them did stop their behaviour.
7 years of bullying, because someone exists, lying to his girlfriend for 2 years, making the life of other a living hell, because of his house. That's just wrong.
Harry & his friends didn't care that Sirius was an illegal animagus, but Rita Skeeter deserves to be blackmailed and imprisoned in a jar, for the same action - realise something.
Lily was a bad friend, who didn't care what the Marauders did.
At the Lake scene, she could have disarmed the Marauders and petrify them, before calling a teacher. Instead she flirted with James and never once called Remus to do his job as a prefect correctly...
Be honest, would you care that something bad would happen to your main tormentor? No, of course not. Professor Snape was no saint, but unless James Potter & Sirius Black, he wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth and had to work hard for his success.
He didn't used his sparetime to bully students, just because they exists.
And anyone who can excuse that the Marauders got away with sending him to the Shrieking Shack on a full moon, and not even received a punishment for it (not a lame one, but a suspension at least and a telling off by their parents!), should consider the long term effects.
Year 3 Prisoner of Azkaban:
Remus knows that he have to take the Potion regularly, it should have been the first thing he do before breakfast. But yes, he was to shocked to take it after seeing Pettigrew's name on the map... Even knowing that a full moon is on that day...
He lied to the staff and to Dumbledore - not informing about Sirius' animagus form and his insider knowledge about the secret passages is a crime...
He didn't stop the trio from attacking Professor Snape, and didn't stop Sirius from knocking the unconcious professor against the ceiling of the tunnel...
And nevertheless as he regain concious he *did* protect them with his body against a werewolf...
Sorry, this isn't anything that most people would do.
But, yes, why should they thank him for it...
In second year - they endanger the whole class, stole from the Potions store, because they're not willing to order those ingredients by owl...
Maybe you should have once stuck the Marauders in their human form and then send them in a werewolf lair - so that they would learn, that this isn't funny.
NO apologies or any kind of atonement for their victims, yes the Marauders were true heroes... and all children want to be like them.
Yes, the Professors were guilty for not stopping the feud between them, however anyone who can send you to your death and use his best friend as a weapon, needs to spends at least some time in a mental facility...
Did Lily ever tried to help Severus? No! Did she help him to learn more about the Muggle world - NHS, shelter for woman and children to be safe from abuse (had existed since 1971 in Britain, too!); inform her parents about Severus' homelife or the constant bullying at Hogwarts...
No, but why should she care about her best friend...
She chose a known rich pureblood bully, who never regretted his bullying days, or that he had spitefully destroyed a friendship to win the girl over.
