Hades in the true tales of mythology is just as your statement said but in dxd he is a major antagonist in fact he wants to commit genocide on all non-Greek factions especially Devils.
He considers Devils to be a abomination to his eyes, and is justified to wipe them out.
This fact is from the canon of Dxd currently so Hades is a scumbag of the highest class with a Hitler fetish in creating Genocide.

I think the feeling was caused by Shirou not doing anything except blocking a single attack. Why did he bother dodging away from a flame that was cast as an AOE? It was gonna hit him anyway, so going straight through head on leaves you in the fire for the least amount of time. Combined with it allowing him to directly engage the enemy in order to prevent them attacking others, and the fact that Kanshou and Bakuya give him magic resistance, made what he did incompetent. Also, why did he bother standing around asking why the Kerberos was preventing him from saving people? Why didn't he make a sword to mulch the Kerberos so he can actually prevent people from being taken captive? It's not like he hasn't experienced the difficulties that a hostage situation can bring before, so I would think preventing that would be higher on the list of priorities than ogling dogs. Essentially he just stood around gawking at what was happening all chapter in stead of doing anything whatsoever. Standing still and jumping out of harm's way when people are at risk are not very Shirou things to do.

Nice chapter, though I have to agree the pacing is a bit off. It felt a bit short for the amount of content. Besides that, it was pretty good.
Thanks for the new chapter!

Youve got a point about hades/pluto getting a bad rap. Everyone forgets he is the god of precious metals and the underworld, not the god of death. That’s a different god entirely
