Reading that omake, you should just do an entire fanfic series of just comedy slice of life chapters of local resident Ragna living out his casual days of bbtag cast in inaba. Doesnt even need deep devolopment or serious consistency story. Just different chapters of ragna dealling and fixing character problems with common sense but lands him in funny situations.

Interesting choice, starting us off with the POV of the residents of the world. Gives us a feel for how the protagonists look for an outsiders perspective, and that segment with Liza helped sell just how much of a positive impact they had. Given his pragmatic nature and having spent a life on the run, she’s lucky Ragna allowed the others to so much as leave letters. At least that gave some context, and an inspiration for a new special room to boot. That’s definitely going to help with business.
Also liked the commentary from Azula and Rojo, the former especially. Given that they’re clearly well experienced and have a decent appraisal of Ragna and the others skill level, does a good job establishing how dangerous the capital really is that they consider it a death sentence. Not to mention the nice wholesome moment of Rojo playing wingman for his daughter.

Was also fun seeing the princess again, and our first glimpse at one of her (full blooded) siblings, who is significantly less of an asshole than I expected. Though that could just be down to her impressive mix of optimism and self control. Whole thing showed another rather impressive aspect of her character in how well she took her not so warm welcome in stride, as well as hearing about her father continuing to try and become the definition of manwhore. That, or she’s so desensitised to his depravity she can barely care any more. That plus her mothers complete apathy towards the kingdoms suffering puts her desperation to do SOMETHING to try and help the kingdom into context. Was also an interesting tidbit with her and Lavell being half siblings, even if the latter understandable tries to avoid talking about it. Adds another interesting dimension to their interactions for me.

Not to mention, the pitch perfect cut between them discussing the blockade because of the spiders, and Hyde complaining at seemingly every spider in the region attacking them. The fact that they treated exterminating the literal army of beasts as an exhausting, but mainly annoying, encounter both made for some nice impromptu comedy, and establishes how strong they all are. The one upside to Ragna’s luck is that they’re definitely getting plenty of opportunities to level up, hone their skills, and won’t need to worry too much about being thorough for the sake of less abled travellers.

Liked the glimpses of the fight we got, shows everyone putting their skills, old and new, into practice. Ruby excels at mid to long range, Yu is already experiencing the upsides of having a versatile arsenal, and Hyde has a decent showing of tactics that take advantage of the Insulators unique properties. Ragna holding off on using his weapons makes sense for the reasons he’s gave, and like the touch of him getting a shield to better act as a tank. Also gave us that impressive display of him swapping between weapons in the blink of an eye, which I suppose makes sense given the dexterity he’d need to wield Aramasa so effectively. Also find it rather ironic that the biggest glass cannon in Blazblue is now playing the role of the party tank.

Also liked the post victory stuff, with them discussing how to divvy up points making it clear how seriously they’re taking this, on top of their tactical acumen. Them shifting their priorities in their builds makes sense since they’d find different things that work as they experiment, and makes things interesting since they’re not confining themselves to a set path in how they develop. They could all change their mind further down the line as they unlock other classes, if that’s a possibility for them at least.
Not to mention, the continued comedy from Yu saying the wildest shit with a completely straight face. Gotta admire the audacity of the guy.

The Omake was also rather enjoyable in how it follows up the previous one. At least Ragna is considerate to consult the group on something that would definitely affect them. The running gag of Weiss saying he should burn the number is funny on its own, but the fact that it’s Weiss saying it adds to the joke, as does Rise agreeing at the end. Curious to see if this ends well, or if it crashes and burns and results in their teacher making things even WORSE than usual if she finds out.

It's quite a mood that the heroes weren't worried about *surviving* every giant spider in the kingdom, but about how long it would take to gather the spoils afterwards. XD

Aaand the king has clearly not learned how to pull out...

So far, the troubles facing the kingdom look pretty serious, but not like the sort of world-ending affairs that would normally call for summoning multiple heroes. There's nary a Demon Lord to be seen! ...Well, not where the king might see him, at least, which seems to be the plan of the mysterious figure who attacked the dwarves. By the time people realize they need a hero, it'd be too late...if the kind youngest princess hadn't already jumped the gun and summoned them for what amounts to basic adventurer tasks.

Here are the electric fishes that were mentioned in the first chapter XD. I wonder how many people people will tease Ruby with her crush/admiration for Ragna. And speaking of him, he is going to go to drink coffee with Kashiwagi in the omake. Clearly nothing to be worried about... Nah, who I'm kidding. This is Ragna, so shenanigans are bound to happen. I wonder if it exists an story in where Kashiwagi gets her happy ending out there.

It's official. Narukami has become a D&D character. Always seeing if he can seduce everything, or screw it.

This fanfic is an interesting one I love watching the cross tag crew interact. And the gamer like take is pretty cool. Is it even possible to upgrade The Insulator though I thought it was some weird conceptual weapon that should technically already be the highest quality? Also is it weird that I love the cross tag apartment omake section the most? Honestly cross tag apartment is good enough to be a fic on its own in my opinion.

I swear Ragna is fortunate he doesn't have to roll an actual D20

Awesome chapter, and I find it kinda cool how Ruby is taking the whole teacher/student thing kinda literal with Ragna.
The misunderstandings that come from this whole thing is kind of funny.

Hope to see more of this soon!

Chapter title is fitting given that it’s mainly the heroes making preparations and doing training. Which I don’t mind, the character interactions are plenty entertaining, and the stuff we see them learn sounds interesting, with a good balance of enough detail to get a feel for how they’re learning, but not so much that it drags out. Good job on that.

Hyde and Yu seem to be taking up the medic/support roles, which makes sense given that their powers lean most heavily on the principles behind them. Ruby’s are mainly about physical enhancement and Ragna’s Drive had some bells and whistles, but he mainly focused on straightforward offensive and defensive capabilities for standard combat. Yu learning a variety of spells covers his bases, and ensures that he can still prioritise his role as the social expert since the mage is generally able to keep their distance in a fight. Given the sheer number of Persona’s and spells he had to juggle in his home series, he’s the most obvious fit for the party mage. Only downside is between the mental strain from overusing magic or getting his Persona damaged, he might be forced to push himself on two fronts. On the other hand, the adversity might help him grow even faster.

Hyde learning alchemy is a nice way to cover their bases in terms of support and utility, since it gives them a stress free way to escape or recover in the middle of a fight. As the least experienced out of the group, it’s also rather fitting that he goes for the basic but practical skill.

Ruby learning how to Blacksmith is appropriate given her status as a weapons fanatic, and like Ragna she probably has plenty of experience from even before she came to the new world. She did design and make her own weapon after all. She even managed to score them all some useful armour, that doesn’t even take a minute to put on, and appears to weigh significantly less than a standard mail or plate. Deciding to make Ragna a weapon to use was sweet, even if it probably won’t last long.

On that note, Ragna seems to be focusing on his role as the heavy hitter, with his main utility being as the team chef. As he brought up, his biggest issue is that while he’s got the fundamentals of hand-to-hand down pat, on top of absurd physical power, about half his fighting style, and most of his moves, require the use of his signature weapon. Or just a weapon capable of not instantly breaking on him. Inferno Divider in particular. Asking the resident bare foster monks to train him is a smart move, and helps expand his arsenal so he has a bigger variety of attacks. Him comparing what they’re trying to teach him to how he used his Drive makes his fast progress feel that much more believable, without diminishing how bloody impressive it was.
Side note, even before he showed up liked the training Rojo and Azula were doing. Managing your temper, even in the face of Berserk Buttons, is a vital skill to have in a fight, and one early Blazblue Ragna probably needed.

Beyond that, enjoyed the character interactions, with the group having more or less settled into their roles and decided who they consider partners. Ragna and Ruby makes sense, since they shared similar motifs and weapon styles, while Yu and Hyde bond over being (mostly) normal teenagers before the various supernatural nonsense became abundant in their lives. Them actually disagreeing on a few things makes their interactions feel that bit more realistic, especially with how they were on different pages with how Ruby regards Ragna. And love how bluntly he confesses his method for getting away with all the nonsense he says. Refuge in audacity at its finest.
Personally, I lean towards Yu’s interpretation of seeing him as a big brother, especially since he has more than a few similarities to her uncle. On Ragna’s end, I think he appreciates having a sort of little sister that isn’t out to murder-suicide him, kill everything, or constantly in horrendous danger. Her giving him the scythe as a present may well be the first time he’s gotten a gift in a long while. Good for them both.

The mayor seems like the picture of a reasonable authority figure, looking out for his people and ensuring the help he enlists has every advantage he can give them to ensure they succeed. Also rather sharp given how fast he sussed out their relation to the prophecy. Too bad he has to take such paranoid measures to keep himself safe. Whole thing helps sell how someone seems to be screwing up the world from behind the scenes that bit more.
Side note, makes perfect sense that Ragna would be happy to hear the prophecy has no concrete statements. Guys spent pretty much his entire previous life railroaded into a specific role, probably glad that doesn’t apply here.

The Omakeverse seems to be taking a life of its own, wherein Ragna’s luck once again reads its head. Only he could accidentally set himself up as his tenants teachers sort-of rebound guy (or target at least), with all the messy implications and headaches that could entail. At least he got them a break from the excessive coursework, though I dread the conversation they have regarding the whole situation.

Equipment and potions can compensate for a lot. Being able to make their own gear on the road (or at least without paying a professional in towns) will be a big help.

Since everything else about this world runs on RPG cliches, I'm going to guess that the king, his closest advisor, or the entire noble caste has fallen under the influence of some kind of demon god (who in turn has their own unique magic system that no one in the world has counters against except the four heroes) and is working to prepare the world for his master's glorious return, which will happen approximately two minutes after the heroes defeat the top cult leader in a penultimate boss battle. Am I close?

Hmmm, no. Imma try to stay in yer head as long as possible.

so the apartment shorts are really nice. I can only imagine the drama from Kashiwagi doing her utmost best to catch Ragna. Imagine if she finds out he's Yu, Hyde, and Ruby's guardian. Ragna will never be rid of her!

Considering that Nanako wants to marry Yu when she grows up, they really were thinking the same thing in some way XD. And for the omake, "RUN RAGNA, RUN".

nah, i know you Hyde, funny thing is Hyde is my favorite protagonis in BBCT aside from ragna off course
