Hahaha I’m dying of both laughter and anticipation! So Anne and Gil are going to be married just like that? I seriously cannot wait to read further! These kind of stories are very very famous where I live (India) and it’d be great to see that with Anne and Gil! I believe the next couple chapters would be both trying to get out of the situation through another way but failing. Please please update soon!

You're right that LMM isn't all too clear as to when Anne begins to love Gilbert...without realizing it, of course. As someone who is currently in bed with the 'flu, and has been reading all of the Anne books (because I now have the time), I cast my vote for the last page of Anne of Avonlea, when Anne and Gilbert are discussing Miss Lavendar's wedding: "It was as if a veil that had hung before her inner consciousness had been lifted, giving to her view a revelation of unsuspected feelings and realities."
And now, on to the review: my first thought upon finishing this chapter was, "How positively Victorian." Oh, wait...it *is*. I also want to go into gales of unholy laughter, because I already know we're going to be in for one heck of a ride. Anne and Gilbert FORCED into marriage? Oh, this will be fun, indeed.

Oh my GOSH! Are you marrying Anne and Gil- when Anne doesn't know she loves him? I know kslchen did it to Rilla and Ken, though that was under very different circumstances and this is not exactly anything one would expect given what happened, is it?

I am so glad to see you back here again. And while I hope you eventually find your way with your way the follow up to WTC (I really am quite fascinated with that little house in White Sands), this has proven to be and unexpected gem that has so much potential. Just goes to prove that Anne will never be done getting into scrapes. I can’t wait to see how Marilla and the Blythe react to this news. What a fun way for them to really get to know each other so much better. Looking forward to where this story goes!

Wowwww, was actually rereading OMDWY (again) when this popped up! Sooo excited how the story will develop! I hope you will come up with some twisty girlpower, those Victorian rules are mighty stifling for the feisty redhead. She needs to get a word in edgewise right? Can’t wait for the next chapter!

Holy hell! That I didn’t expect! Rules were simply ridiculous about women in that time! But wow let’s see what anne says I’m pretty sure we are about 5 seconds from another slate incident? Or maybe just a tantrum of some kind?! Wow fantastic chapter, go on!

Ive been expecting something completely different from you but OMG, what a lovely surprise! How come you can always find a new way and create another new refreshing AU? This one is going to be such fun! Although I was a bit afraid that you would let Gilbert lose his memory after the accident but that was just me hugely underestimating your abilities - sorry for that! And I love how you chose that particular day from AOI and instead of Roy you offered us an unexpected engagement! Great, keep going Cate! Im already a huge fan!

Okay two things actually made me laugh. One the exhortation that you ‘bloody’ well couldn’t get the other story to work - so Aussie and this last line that they’ll have to get married.
It’s interesting how what seems like a perfectly simple situation which would ruffle no modern feathers is potentially enough to ruin both their lives and her’s worse than his. How times have changed. Thankfully.
Intriguing premise, I shall follow with interest.

Very good start Catie. At first ai thought the gentlemen Roy but its ao uncouth for him, so this is the game she missed when she went on a rainy walk bumping into Roy (whose currently sitting under that umbrella alone) and of course it's Jo! I like Jo, I wish we saw more of him.
