It just keeps getting better and better, with how pretty much anything, that happens in the movie, being referenced and almost always justified one way or another.

It takes a special kind of beauty to create something as wonderful as Backstroke of the West. It therefore takes a special kind of genius to novelise that same wonderful movie.
This story really taught me how important dialogue is. I mean, without coherent dialogue, understanding the story would be impossible, so I'm glad you've managed to stick to the original script so closely. Truly, we could all learn from the great art forms of the most anonymous Chinese pirates.
