I like the chapters so far and also am down for a Vendicar x Liz if you are going to do a pairing. Also like how the chapters are not just really short. Some short chapters as like fillers can be good for a series like SAO considering how many time skips were used.

Cool second chapter. Sorry it took me so long to get around to it but just like you I also had finals, projects, and graduation fall upon me. But that’s not important right now, what’s important is how good this chapter came out. Also please don’t be afraid to put out shorter chapter where Vendicar grinds levels as while it may seem like filler it while greatly deviate from the main show where time skips were. Everywhere.
Having interactive moments spread through the story in bite sized chunks instead of full chapter/episodes dedicated to adding to the harem will go a long way in improving SAO in any regard.
Also Vendicar X Liz for sure.
Quick question, will Vendicar start his own guild? Or just joking the K.O.B?
If he did start a guild what would it be called!?

It was good.
Alright just finished reading, and all in all 7/10.
I’m no fan of SAO, but the first episode was good. But here your character insertions was...iffy and usually your characters are awesome! But this one seemed...eh.
Not bad honestly, I’m really looking forward to seeing what you do from here.
The weapon, not bad definitely something I don’t see happen a lot.
I’m definitely curious what your plans for this are so good luck to you.
But just for the record, I’m like 60% sure I start my SAO FF before yours so that’s a first... ha. Alright have a wonderful day.

Nice first chapter, there isn't anything too different from the first episode of SAO. Vendicar seems to have good self-control on his emotions since he didn't panic and it's realistic that he would be hyped for the game as a normal player. Remember to portray your OC's flaws and never make him surpass Kirito. Have him struggle and overcome both physical and emotional challenges.
The weapon choice shouldn't matter too much, at least to me. But hey, I haven't seen many two-handed longsword wielders on here so it's something new! Speed should definitely be an issue for him.
Most people hate SAO because it had potential, to me I'm more disappointed in the show for what it could have been. Things like actual tension and developed characters were lacking and the series just adds more characters rather than developing and reusing the old ones. Also the Fairy Arc and what they did to Asuna were... yeah...
If you like the original then I won't judge, but Kirito needs a nerf and Asuna should still be a capable swordswoman. Also Klein, Silica, Lisbeth, etc. should also have had bigger roles. It's up to you if you want to make more use of the original characters.
