Don't worry. Most of the information in fic is correct, so your hard work won't be in vain. The other information... I don't know.

Being a person who wishes Kenshin had actually existed, I absolutely loved this. Using the picture that the gang took at Yokohama (or was it Osaka?) was a great touch!
Thank you

This is good, I have done the same thing too, (specifically write out on paper then type it on pc.) Unless you were trying to make this also EXTREMELY creative, which you succeeded in... you got certain details wrong. This is a great story though despite that, and keep writing. 10/10 (p.s. I have bad handwriting too, You aren't the only one with that problem.)

Oh wait, I messed up a little on the timeline. The incident with the Himura brothers would've indeed been in spring, as Okubo was assassinated in May, which marked the beginning of the Kyoto Arc. That means Kenshin would've then turned 29 either shortly before or shortly after the main story of the manga.

The rest of the issues still stand, though. Also, I don't like how you referenced the photo taken during a non-canon anime filler arc.

I absolutely agree with the comments of Compucles's review.
Another one I would add is about the date of death... it depends on if you count on Seisouhen OVA or not (in this case, he dies muuuuch sooner *cries*).
Doing this as a history report is a nice idea and your handwritting does fit this.
Thanks for sharing!

It did sound like Wikipedia. I thought I was reading info about a real historical figure I need for my homework, which is a good thing since, I think, you are aiming for that. Thumbs up to this!

This is an interesting idea and very well researched in some places.

However, there are some issues with it:

First of all, there are occasional grammar errors. Second, the first paragraph of the first Bakamatsu section makes no sense, as the age and year are wrong, while the rest of that paragraph's content is simply unreadable.

Next, you keep switching between Eastern and Western name order. Pick one and stick with it. It's awkward and confusing and leads to mistakes such as how you at one point refer to Shishio only by his given name.

It's unlikely that Sano would ever be able to settle down and marry Megumi, and even if he did, her married name would be Megumi Sagara.

I can see how you could think Kenshin's marriage to Tomoe was unofficial under the circumstances, but the way Kenshin told the story and refers to Tomoe makes me think it was indeed a legal marriage with documentation that would be found by historians. As far as the war was concerned, it wouldn't have mattered if that were the case, since Battosai's real name wasn't common knowledge at the time. Even if no record exists, you'd think Tomoe would be mentioned in someone's journal or memoires, though.

It's strange that you never mention Karou's full name or any additional information about Kenshin's later family life such as a year of marriage or his children. While there's no official canon source for the year they married or any potential children beyond Kenji, there's no reason you couldn't have used head canon like you did for others things. (By the way, it's odd that Kenshin lives so many years longer than Koaru with him being 11 years older than her, but it's believable given the wide range of life expectancy from natural causes common at the time.)

One final thing to note is that if the June birthday is accurate as is commonly accepted, the incident with the Hiruma brothers would've been during the summer, as Kenshin was 28 both when he met Kaoru and during the Kyoto Arc. Likewise, Kaoru (who is also thought to have a June birthday) was 17 both when she met Kenshin and when she was kidnapped by Enishi.

Anyway, don't take this long list as meaning I don't like the story. It's overall really well done and a very interesting read. It's just easier to point out the mistakes.
