I ate up all available five chapters as quickly as my eyes and brain would allow, and am eager for more. Finding a more mature story within this fandom is like finding a Unicorn: it doesn’t happen. Fortunately, I’ve found two unicorns within a weeks span now, and I never want it to end.
I appreciate your fleshing out of the characters. I can relate to Alana even without having the same background or experiences, and it’s made her a very real person in my mind, whom I’d love to have a conversation with.
More than anything, I’ve seen too many OC characters that have “grown up on the Rez” but seem wholly ignorant to the myths and legends of the tribe. The acknowledgment Alana has given of the Spirit Warriors/wolves comes across as entirely natural and not at all campy (as it typically does in other stories I’ve read).
The reality of life on a Reservation is also wonderfully done, even if scenes have only taken place at two homes. It’s a very nice reprieve from the fanciful “life on the Reservation is perfect and magical and all the people are healthy, happy, and whole!” Because that picture is an unfortunate lie.
I look forward to reading more, and seeing where you take these characters!

PLEASE UPDATE NOW! Whoooooo! Had that on my chest for a while. I can't count the number of parts that physically killed me(and oh, I'M STILL DYING) with amazingness, so I just want to say... GREAT FRICKING JOB! Paul... Yes. Cinnamon bun-sunshiney-I-will-always-love-you Jacob...MORE. NeEED MORE! But, saying it politely, you have a real gift for writing that I hope you will always use. Your character building (especially for Paul, who could easily be written one-dimensionally) is on a different level, and I mean, come on. She came back for him. She came back after years of seperation, after he wrote beautiful cards that HE NEVER SENT. Like, it's okay, I didn't need my heart anyway. Well, actually,
I don't need my heart, but I need this fanfic to SURVIVE. Despite how overly dramatic that was, I really do believe this is one of the best fabrics I have ever read. So, I guess, keep up the good work! I look forward to the rest of your schtuff!

His personality, his demeanor, his wit, his 3 am homework help. PAULLLLL! *rips all the clothes off my hangers* THEN JACOB. "If you don't want to discuss it you don't have to." YOU BALL OF ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE. YOU, SIR ARE THE BEST. *rolls up my carpet and javelin throws it through a window* THEN ALANA. MY BEAUTIFUL WARRIOR PRINCESS QUEEN BELOVED UNICORN WOMAN.
