I love love loooove this. I've recently dove back into reading Twilight fanfic and I'm so happy I came across this gem. I love Jacob and am a sucker for Jacob/OC stories cause he deserves that happy ending. This story is exactly what I was looking for. Something a bit more mature and emotionally complex but still sweet, exciting, and funny. I love your Alana. She definetly feels like a real person and I love how accomplished she is. She has her flaws too which I enjoy. I particularly like how she is a person in progress- it doesn't feel like we're meeting her at the beginning of her life, we're with her in the middle of it, in the middle of growth. The way she continously acknowledges her own journey and growth is so important.
The way you write about the shifts in emotions in the story is amazing. I empathize so easily with them because of it. It's also the percfect amount of gut-wrenching angst, a subtle but deep angst that I love. The yearning, regret, and sacrifice is powerful and potent and makes every sweet moment even more meaningful. Of course, I love the humor as well. It's perfectly balanced. Each time Alana wants to die from checking Jacob out is such a /mood/.
I really love your Jacob. He's fully formed and the best version of him; flaws and all. The chapter where Alana read his letters wrenched my poor heart which made the kiss so satisfying. I also love how seeped in their Native American identity is in the narrative and in the characters. It's an angle that not a lot go for which is a shame. It feels so much more complex and lived in this way.
I enjoy all the interactions and hope to see more of them in the future! I especially love Paul and am a bit in love with this protective patient version of him. So obviously a good man as much as Jacob is.
Anyway long story short, I enjoy this stroy a lot and hope to read more! Please know that if my account weren't being weird I'd definetly favorite and follow this haha

Okay I lack the proper words to adequately explain how much I adore and respect and appreciate the reality you’ve infused into this story regarding the honest to god truth in how indigenous people have been treated in the past and in the present. The things you’ve sewn into this story are so important and need to be said. You deserve to be the voice for these characters far more than the source writer EVER did. Your story is amazing and I am so excited for what it will bring. I just love it and you a lot rn.

I was so glad to see you had posted a new chapter! :) I'm really enjoying this story and the dialogues between Alana and Jake (and of course who could possibly resist to Paul's interventions?). It's nice to see them -and their relationship- mature with every conversation they had. More please?
Oh, and I haven't mentioned before but your epigraphs are almost as good as the chapters! I love them, they are so beautiful and appropiate for every stage of their story. Keep sharing them please!

Embry talking about seeing Paul naked and like, WE FEEL YOU EMBRY, WE FEEL YOU. AND THEN when Embry is trying to explain it to Alana and can do no more than make gestures and sounds?
SO EMBRY. Poor bby. And how poor ALana obviously needs answers right that second but relegates her role to mothering Embry because honestly, it's all of our roles at some point or another.

It's a moment in her story where she can't build a wall and we get to see a glimpse into who she really is and why she is the way that she is. IT'S BEAUTIFUL.
