I've been ignoring this for a long while, mostly because of the betrayal thing in chapter 1, and only now do I realize that apparently this is 'better' than other betrayal fics. Still, things are not exactly going to end well if the next chapter will have an explosive conclusion. I wouldn't put it past Xenovia of all people to act extremely rashly and cut Asia down in anger if Issei truly has given up on having a harem and starts to see Asia as just a little sister again.

I am 100% fine with this direction in the story, as long as these "consequences" that Issei is afraid, actually end up happening.
In cannon, Rias parents said previously that Issei was Rias " last moment of selfishness" in the sense of, "if things don't work with him, you are going to marry whoever the fuck we chose", and i assume that the same thing apply for this AU universe that you created in this fanfic.
Which means, that if Issei reject Rias, he will have to watch her marrying a High-class pure blood devil (someone that she problably don't even like).
Akeno literally will have a mental breakdown if he dumps her to be only with Ravel. And even if he accepts her in his "new harem" with Ravel as the N1 girl, Akeno still problably would feel really bad for Rias, if she gets left out (their relationship as friends could even end).
Not to mention, that if Issei will be with Ravel, and only her, all the other girls would hate her.
So i am curious to see where this is going.

Is it wrong that I hope the “explosive” part of “explosive conclusion” is between Issei and Rias, Akeno, etc. as the latter group finds out about Issei and Ravel hooking up and not some villain of the week or the main villains? Mainly since I feel there’s a good amount of buildup to the confrontation at this point and having an outside force crash the party would be… I’m not sure how to describe it, but it feels like it would ruin the momentum. Issei, I think needs the closure from the confrontation. He’s chosen Ravel, but that’s only half the work done.

It really hit me when Issei gives up his dreams all so he could be happy with Ravel, a Harem might be awesome and being the ultimate pawn might be epic, but spending all your life with the love of your life is 1 trillion more worth it than those things.

Who Will revive her? Who will heal her? Who will heal the hearts of the ORC? Kiba? no. It would be too... much for them, No good relationship would emerge from that.

WELL DONE, chapter. Issei, Ravel I couldn't be anymore proud of these two they really have changed. Damn Im too alone, we all need a Ravel in our lives. Anyhow, that was a great confession, and I must say I am glad about this outcome. I do suspect this will be a secret, right? I suppose for the sake of everyone else, they won't just come up and say, Oh yeah, we're dating now. That'll be too brutal. All though I think Azazel should be the first to know immediately when the time is right I mean, he already knew how dumb they were in love. Now for the end of Olympus in the next chapter.
Also, what's with the bickering in the reviews? At the end of the day, it's the authors choice of what they want to do, but I guess I can see where this is coming from. Oh well, while I'm at it, I too am very conflicted about it, so I will give my insight. I'm glad Ravel and Issei finally confessed, however, the situation with the girls, Rias in particular, is quite troublesome.
Logically, from one of the reviewers points, yes, I would assume Rias's parents aren't going to take a liking to this. After all, especially Venelana-san as her patience isn't quite the greatest, and that was explained in an earlier chapter by Sirzechs. Logically, I also think they would force Rias to be with someone else in another arranged marriage. The marriage with Raiser was important to the devil race and the Gremory clan, but Issei broke that, and in return, her parents accepted that they wanted Issei to be the next person to marry her. However, in doing this, a part of the story will be taking a MASSIVE leap/change, which will also be difficult to maintain (I think). At the same time, her parents would also be taking a big hit, especially Sirzechs. They came to love Issei very well, so I can't say that will go well. Raiser was a nobody to them I believe, but Issei, well, it's a whole other case. It will also add a whole other dynamic to the story, which the other reviewers comment would also make sense. I'm not sure if others will like it, but I guess that is dependent. I personally wont drop the story and will stand by it.
However, now this is my personal opinion that lines up with the other reviewer not saying this should happen, just what I personally would like as well. Hell, maybe I'm too biased because I personally love Rias, so it hurts, but whatever. I personally would hope that Issei and the girls, and more specially Rias do fix their relationship. However, in doing so, they ALL need to mature beforehand, as stated in the bio of the story. They are still kids, so they still have a lot of learning to do. I don't think she will be number one after all that position has been usurped by Ravel, but that's fine. Just something to establish enough to convince her parents not to force another marriage, even though it isn't quite logical. It's just something that I think is still possible. As for Issei, he too needs to mature. At least in one aspect. This silent resentment needs to be figured out sometime, sooner or later, or else it will collapse all over again.
Regardless, this is all dependent on Issei and what the author thinks is best for the story. Hestia also gave her input, but Issei never truly answered what he wanted to do at this stage in the mix of his confusion. The same thing would also go for the harem king, whether he wants it or not anymore.
