I don't know if it was a coincidence, putting Berk in Michigan, but that was pretty clever! A lot of people might be like "How are people from Michigan related to Vikings in anyway?" But if I'm not wrong, a lot of Scandinavian people had immigrated to the Upper Midwest during the late 19th century. Sorry, this is kind of a random comment, but I thought it was cool because I had just written an essay for Human Geo on that subject, and I like that attention to detail. This is a really good fic, you're a great writer!

Oh please write more!
This was so cute and sad at the same time. I could really feel for Hiccup but I loved that he stood up for himself.
I really like wheelchair fics because they show how hard this life can be and how judgy people are. They show how people cope with sitting in a wheelchair and I like that they focus not TOO much on the wheelchair fact but more on the life in a wheelchair. Like you did. You focused on the prospect of bullying a kid in a wheelchair without mentioning the wheelchair in every sentence. Kudos to that. Brilliant writing.
I do not beg often, but pleas please continue this. This is such a cute one-shot and has already affected me emotionally. I would love to see how Hiccup and Astrid deelope and how their social lifes cope with him being disabled. It is such a ard topic but I think you already exceeded at it! Therefor I would be very happy if you'd continue this.

Nice! Good, fresh story on the definition of pity which is actually the correct definition, and how we can help people who are in that state. Seems to me that Hiccup might initially enjoy it but get a little apprehensive, needing to work through how to deal with someone determined to kindly encourage and push him on towards growing himself.
