Dude/dudette/idk. The joy of ff it’s a alternate universe you can change it how ever you want. Story startes a year earlier fine. School times change, fine. Giant spaghetti god roaming the world, well that’s all g because it’s a au a branch reality where any thing could be different because that’s the universe you chose to talk about. Get what I’m putting down?

In Japan, not every goes to high school. Getting into even a 'public' high school is a lot like getting into a college in the West (and in some ways harder). For people inheriting a family business, or who have no desire for white collar work, High School is 3 years away from the work force (and in some cases, not even part time work is legal depending on the school).
We have no real evidence she lived on her own in middle school. We know she does in High School via support from an aunt, but nothing is really discussed. Tto go with the meme, Kubo doesn't have to explain shit.

Anyway, pardon my outburst there. What I meant to say, was that this was a good chapter and I look forward to what you’ll come up with next! I’m very eager to see a new chapter soon! So don’t disappoint please!

Considering that the Fullbringer arc explained why humans having shinigami powers was forbidden, what Chad’s powers were exactly, foreshadowed how Ichigo became a Vizard without being experimented on, and gave him his powers back, I’d hardly call it filler.
Plus, Genryuusai was pretty much the Jesus equivalent of the shinigami to begin with, only being a liability in the Winter War because Aizen had created an arrancar to neutralize him, and in the Thousand Year Blood arc because he’d showed his hand too soon and let his bankai get taken. Besides, even with Yhwach being as powerful as he is, that didn’t stop Aizen from hypnotizing him despite his powers of foresight. And if Kubo wasn’t rushed to end the series in five chapters, he probably would have revealed that Ichigo was the rare type of Quincy that could give people his powers and take that power himself (since he never used regular Quincy powers after learning the truth), which would explain how he’s been able to take down foes with centuries/millenia of experience in the first place while not beeding an anti-Quincy arrow to defeat Yhwach.
By scrapping Yhwach, that means the schism between “Zangetsu” and Zangetsu, Ichigo’s mother being a Quincy, and Aizen keeping tabs on him since he was born are all rendered completely pointless now, since those were all tied to Yhwach existing in the first place.
But what do I know, discarding a character you don’t like is way easier than fixing him so that his potential could be better utilized than it was in the canon. It’s better to just replace it with your own headcanon that doesn’t add anything more to the Quincies than we already knew at the start; of them being existences that opposed the Shinigami due to their powers destroying the souls that Hollows possessed, preventing their souls from passing on.
