Constructive criticism: It's obvious that you've done a lot of world building for this story. Unfortunately, you dumped a overwhelming amount of info on your readers in the first chapter - names, descriptions, ranks, personal skills, etc. Slow down! Limit to the essential info, introduce information more gradually, and/or repeat titles and relationships.
Otherwise shaping up to be a good read. You've done an excellent of highlighting and contrasting some of the characters' basic personality traits and good pacing on revealing backstories.

The 'Pink Sweater Toad' is going to tick off Lyra's team so much that she's not going to survive whatever punishment that she receives from them.. let alone be returned to the Ministry, or wherever, in one piece.

I have a feeling that Lilac is going to be in Sirius and Remus' custody soon, and neither James, nor Lily are going to like that despite the fact that _THEY_ are the ones that are unfit to care for _any_ children, much less their own... all things considered.
I also have a feeling that Umbridge and a few others are going to push Lyra and her Troupe to the brink, and probably cause a war that neither side wanted to enter.
