I really hope that they stop gaslighting Johanna. Especially Castle is making things so much worse for everyone because he can't just keep out of everything. Kate finally seems to see how much her mom suffers (mostly in silence) and hopefully makes some good decisions. The complete family dynamics are pretty difficult, and they all deserve better. First on Kates list should be fixing her husband and his meddling into places he does not belong. Everyone revolves around him and the Rick Castle show of life. Then the adults need to take a look inside themselves and decide if they can accept the past and move on, because constant pressures against a woman who was just trying to keep her family safe for many years is uncalled for. They should treat Joanna as a treasure not a weight. But I am loving the story as always, great writing and depth.

The whole family is a constantly brewing storm. This is why you live far away from your parents and in-laws. Rick will learn to just not get involved or say anything. It’s a no win situation. Mother and daughters are complicated and son in laws should just let them figure it out.

I liked the chapter. It's a familiar problem, rules everywhere and lack of communication between daughter and mother. Although Rick has done his bit and put pressure on Johanna

Anyone who had Rick as a son-in-law would probably be driven to the bottle! Poor Johanna, everyone still punishing her in some way for making a choice to live. What a life! She represents real love to me.
