Great beginning. I'm wondering if Dick is still Nightwing, Bruce is still Batman, etc... at first I thought it's a no capes AU since there have been no mentions at all, but then Tim appeared and I wasn't sure what to think (since his backstory is so thoroughly entrenched in Batman and Robin). Is he just a close friend of the family? I'm curious but confused. Maybe Dick's secret is him being Nightwing (or equivalent for this universe)?

this is an awesome chapter I like that you included babs' hacking skills and dick's terrible patient. I like the cliffhanger I cannot wait what's inside the letter and how their first charity ball gonna be as well as her dress and will we see commissioner gordon too and the rest of the Wayne brood.
