The Syndicate Squad
- US Virgin Islands

The Anti-Heroes and 'reformed' villains were happy that they got US Virgin Islands only because they want to spend more time partying and relaxing in the beach but they still have a tasked to do by protecting their selected state.

Harley Quinn
King Shark
Captain Boomerang
Deadshot
Ratcatcher (Cleo Cazo)
Poison Ivy

It feels like a new take on the Secret Six aka Harley Quinn and the Stupendous Six.

With Max as Zemo, Mr. Miracle & Barda as Enchantress & Skurge, Firestorm as Radioactive Man, Damage as The Melter, Azrael as The Black Knight, and Captain Marvel as Wonderman.

LOL!

DC Comics’ B.P.R.D. (Band of pretty rotten dudes)…:

SABBAC
Demonically endowed ex-Russian mob boss.

SUN GIRL
Fiendish fiery femme fatale from the future.

CHARYBDIS
Cannibalistic humanoid underwater dweller.

Occasionally the main guys will get unsavory assistance from…:

LION MANE
He's a proud predatory warlord always ready to pounce.

GAS BAG
His containment suit houses a variety of volatile vapors.

STONE
Earth bending big man, ex-member of The Demon’s Fist.

My sad attempt at a UK based team…:

THE SHINING KNIGHT
He’s defended England for hundreds of years and has answered the call to lead. This new team though, will surely test Sir Justin’s patience.

MANCHESTER BLACK
Manchester loves England every bit as much as the Shining Knight. Other than that, the two are complete opposites, though.

RAKSHASI
Fierce in battle but otherwise soft spoken, Rakshasi’s pretty much keeping to herself right now, just observing how her new teammates interact.

THE DEMON
Etrigan is the team’s heavy hitter, one Hell’s most powerful residents. Jason Blood is a centuries old mystical scholar, a font of arcane knowledge.

MEANTIME
He has the ability to warp time and space on large scale. When combined w. a fragile mental state, you get a pretty scary guy.

SILVER BANSHEE
Played around w. her look, but this is Soibhan Smythe, up and coming rock star mystically endowed w. sonic powers.

THE CHEETAH
On again off again foe of Wonder Woman, archeologist Dr. Barbara Ann Minerva‘s a proper English Lady. She’s actually quite proud to be serving on the team.

TIM HUNTER
Destined to become the world’s most powerful Mage, Tim Hunter’s drawn the attention of both Jason Blood AND Etrigan, which makes him a little uncomfortable.

I’ve always wanted DC to have their own Excalibur or Union. I mean, this team ain’t it, but it’s something!

The Illuminati

PLASTIC MAN
Yes, Plastic Man. He’s one of the most powerful metas on the planet but his infantile behavior keeps him rooted firmly in joke territory. That’s to his advantage, as no one ever sees him coming.

CAPTAIN ATOM
Being a man out of time, the human nuclear option has a unique perspective on where the world’s been, is, and might be going.

IBIS THE INVINCIBLE
Resolute in his duties yes, but getting a little tired of cleaning up everyone else’s messes.

SHAZAM
The Gods may be crazy, but they do keep an eye on, and sometimes choose to get involved in, earthly affairs.

HARDWARE
He's the smartest man in the room, and knows what’s best for everyone.

THE QUESTION
Unlike Hardware, Vic Sage has nothing but questions, and will walk through Hell to get his answers.

LORD EMP
The immortal Kherubim Noble's been in business here on earth for millennia. He keeps the others focused on the bottom line.

Attachment 140149

Alpha Centurion (Superman) - While there are a few Superman-style characters that could've been used, most of them have had well over 100 appearances (like The Captain/Shazam) or they're such flagrant Superman-inspired characters that they're not really saying anything too new. Enter Alpha Centurion, who has a similar powerset via a different source and a unique origin that is still alien-centric, but not in the same way. He had a good run in the 90s and is a character worth bringing back.

Orpheus (Batman) - Taking the role of Batman is Orpheus, whom has worked with Batman before without being part of the Bat-Family. His streetwise nature, combined with a unique fighting style that incorporates his skills as a dancer and a specialized stealth suit, make him a great candidate to take the "unpowered vigilante" spot.

Starfire (Wonder Woman) - Strong woman warrior from a faraway location? The original Starfire fits the bill. She's not as powerful as Wonder Woman by any stretch but I'd argue she is conceivably a scrappier warrior/fighter, a difference that comes from being raised as a slave and freedom fighter versus among a loving community in a place once called "Paradise Island." And her sci-fi origins are a nice offset to Alpha Centurion, who is closer to the Greco-Roman-inspired origins of Wonder Woman.

B'wana Beast (Aquaman) - While Aquaman has a ton going for him, I've always felt the characters who had ties to the entire animal kingdom always has a bit of an advantage on him. With folks like Vixen, Animal Man, and Beast Boy being overused, I ultimately went for B'wana Beast, who has had more exposure in the last twenty years of animation than the last sixty years of comics. Freedom Beast is kind of a subdued character, so I wanted the guy who was a little more nuts and would let his freak flag fly, power-wise.

Mas y Menos (Flash) - The problem with the Flash Family is that they all get used a lot because there's always a call for them to come together (I think even Avery Ho might be over 100 appearances in a relatively short amount of time). So finding a speedster who is a hero but isn't directly tied to Flash can be difficult. Enter Mas y Menos, who made the jump from cartoons to comics and have been used in a limited capacity. And I know we're swapping one character for two, but there's no way I could separate them.

Solstice (Green Lantern) - Similar to Flash, the big name GLs are the ones who are used a ton, well past the 100 appearance limit. And those that don't get used that much, what do they bring to the table, beyond being a GL who's barely a character beyond the ring? But Solstice is a relatively new character with light-based powers (including forming the odd construct out of light) who has an established personality. So despite not being a Green Lantern, she gets the spot.

Ultra the Multi-Alien (Martian Manhunter) - J'onn is a tricky one, with such a vast array of powers finding someone to line up to him one-to-one is a bit difficult. As far as the under 100 club goes, there's Jemm Son of Saturn, but he's almost more of a bargain-basement J'onn, especially after they tied the two races together. Instead I went with Ultra, who lacks a lot of J'onn's powers but brings some to the table that J'onn lacks. Plus, he's such a great slice of 60s weirdness, how could I NOT pick him for the spot?
This is smoooooth!
I love the idea you came up w. and the characters you wound up picking. This must’ve been a fun one to put together!

I wish DC would do an Elseworlds story that brought together a -really- extreme nineties Justice League, w. the Big Seven versions/replacements from across that infamous decade.

SUPERMAN RED
Supes was briefly replaced by The Eradicator and Henshaw, came back in black, and grew a mullet, but Superman Red was my favorite of all the ways DC tried to fix what wasn’t broke.

ARTEMIS
I never bought her as being WW; Artemis is a way better character as her own person.

AZRAEL
Again, never bought into Azbats. I did like him breaking the Joker’s arms not long after starting out though.

WARRIOR
Guy Gardner went from rebellious GL to loose cannon w. a Yellow Power Ring to extreme half alien guy w. gun arms.

DARK FLASH
It’s funny that he’s a speedster, as Walter West was the last of these characters to show up, debuting in 1999 and missing all the extreme fun.

AQUAMAN
With his long hair, armor, and pointy prosthetic, Aquaman was a member of the actual JLA. Let’s all give the big guy … a hand.

BLOODWYND
DC decided boring old J’onn J’onzz needed an extreme nineties makeover so they turned him into an angry black sorcerer guy.

There must be a parallel earth with this lineup. Extreme Justice.

However I would make the difference between the Radical League and the Extreme League.
The Extreme League would be the extreme replacement types; The Radical League would be the Radical makeover of the original characters.

For example Wonder Woman: Artemis would be the Wonder Woman of the Extreme League but the Biker Wonder Woman would be member of the Radical League.

Alpha Centurion (Superman) - While there are a few Superman-style characters that could've been used, most of them have had well over 100 appearances (like The Captain/Shazam) or they're such flagrant Superman-inspired characters that they're not really saying anything too new.

B'wana Beast (Aquaman) - While Aquaman has a ton going for him, I've always felt the characters who had ties to the entire animal kingdom had a bit of an advantage on him.

And those that don't get used that much, what do they bring to the table...they're mostly GLs who're barely characters beyond the ring. But Solstice is a relatively new character with light-based powers (including forming the odd construct out of light) who has an established personality. So despite not being a Green Lantern, she gets the spot.

Ultra the Multi-Alien (Martian Manhunter) - J'onn is a tricky one; with such a vast array of powers, finding someone to line up to him one-to-one is a bit difficult.
I have to say this is an interesting (and very diverse) line-up. Congrats.

Thats a neat idea, w. the dual Leagues! Wish I’d thought of it!

I've thought about doing an Elseworld like this, sort of an "Extreme Justice" world. However, I went with:

The Justice Commando of America -

• Superman – The Eradicator, last surviving artifact of Krypton. Ruthless major heavy-hitter.
• Batman – Azreal, who uses the resources of deceased billionaire Thomas Wayne to become an avenging creature of the night.
• Wonder Woman – Artemis, champion of the Amazons. Sent to men's world to show them the "Amazon's way."
• Flash – John Fox, hailing from the future. Not above changing time to suit his wishes.
• Green Lantern – Guy Gardner, brain damaged bearer of the power ring. Arrogant and onnoxious.
• Hawkman – half-alien, Charlie Parker uses technology from the planet Thanagar to become Hawkman. However, maybe, doesn't have Earth's best intrests in mind.
• Mr. Miracle – Shilo Norman, apprentice of the world-renowned escape artist. To him, it's all about fame and money.
• Booster Gold – Michele "Goldstar" Carter left her brother behind in the future and used advanced technology to become a super-hero in the present.
• Robin – Jason Todd, partner to the Batman. As ruthless as his mentor and with a kind of twisted view of what justice is.

Peace

Your Booster is especially intriguing to me.

Using the McKay Avengers archetypes for this one.

While I could’ve had essentially the same lineup w. in the present, I set it twenty minutes into the future, as a more logical

This is what the Justice League looks like a few years after The Dominators initiate a War of The Worlds, killing off most of Earth’s heroes in the process.

THE WARLORD
Ex-USAF fighter pilot Travis Morgan, who liberated the Lost World of Skartaris has come full circle, now leading the Justice League against The Dominators and looking to take back the planet.

FREEDOM BEAST
The Champion of The Red’s gone from defending Africa to defending the Earth itself, his name taking on a deeper meaning in the wake of the alien invasion.

ARTEMIS
The Dominators killed Wonder Woman, leveled Themyscira, and made the Amazons an endangered species. Any one of those things would’ve been enough to see Artemis swear a blood oath to destroy the aliens.

ROCKET RED 7
Russia’s armored defense force dug in to defend their Country as The Dominators invaded. Gavril Ivanovich was reactivated as a member of the Justice League, taking the fight directly to the invaders.

PLATINUM
She’s the last member of the Metal Men still functioning, and Platinum is looking to avenge her late teammates and creator Doc Magnus.

AIRWAVE
Harold Jordan’s proven invaluable in disrupting Dominator communications and operations. He’s not a Green Lantern but like his fallen Uncle Hal, Airwave is fighting without fear.

Thanks, Riv. After looking back I think what Terror Titans lacked was a magic user in their roster maybe either Black Alice or a revamped version of Nora Darhk from Legends of Tomorrow would work in a morally grey team.

I wouldn’t mind seeing them, but I really want Jason to have an actual solo series, no Outlaws, no Generation Outlaws, no those kids in his last mini…and a return to his GOOD costume!

DC's The Thunderbolts: When the Fourth Reich kills all of the heroes of Earth and their families, it's up to a team of rogues to try to bring some semblance of the law to the world.

Cheshire adopts the Citizen V gear in order to bring this team together.

First recruit is Reign as Atlas, Reign will be the powerhouse of this team, but she is so bloodthirsty that she will go too far many times.

Second recruit is Cyborgman as Meteorite, a strong second in command on a team that will constantly be at odds over leadership.

Third recruit is Leopard Lady as Songbird, she is a plant working with Apex.

Fourth recruit is Blackbeard as Mach, Blackbeard is a chameleon who seems to want to try to reinvent himself or subjugate the world to his rule.

Last recruit is Clock King as Techno, he'll be the gadget maker for the team.

I just saw this one in the JSA big seven thread (I’m trying not to post too much in that one but I’m liking the feedback), I thought it was a really cool twist on the idea; JSA Year One!

I wanted to do a variation of the Big Seven JLA but with a caveat opposite of the thing I tend to dislike about the Big Seven JLA. So with that, here's my take on the Big 7 featuring characters who've had under 100 appearances in DC Comics, across the various reboots:

Alpha Centurion (Superman) - While there are a few Superman-style characters that could've been used, most of them have had well over 100 appearances (like The Captain/Shazam) or they're such flagrant Superman-inspired characters that they're not really saying anything too new. The Justice League 3000 are clones of the original JLA.
The Titans 3000 are young 31st Century legacy characters of 21st Century heroes…:

ROBIN
The Robin of the far future, Tom Wayne, leads the Titans, as Robins usually do.

THUNDER
With one magic phrase, teen orphan CeCe Beck gains the Power of Shazam.

RON VIDAR
Temporal engineer Ron Vidar is the last of the Green Lantern Corps.

DR. FATE
In the future, Dr. Fate is a mysterious alien, defending us from the Forces of Chaos.

THE TORNADO TWINS
Don and Dawn Allen are part of the Flash Family, a thousand year old dynasty.

GOLD BEETLE
The descendant of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold is a talented time traveler.

Even though Robin Jason Todd and Kid Devil were pen pals…

…and Danny Chase knew Jason well enough to call him the Toddster…

…the original eighties Young Justice never found an audience. That’s a shame.

Two of that lineup had a target sign over their faces. And those bullets hit the bullseye.

Team JSA is a Justice Society/WWII era legacy team that’s not actually a legacy team…:

GREEN LANTERN
Though he admires Alan Scott (and dated his daughter), team leader Kyle Rayner became a Green Lantern, the only Green Lantern for a good long while actually, via Ganthet one of the Guardians of The Universe.

ROBOTMAN
Despite the fact that both wound up in cybernetic bodies, second in command Cliff Steele has no actual connection to Robert Crane.

THE ATOM
Team science guy Ryan Choi is a legacy hero yeah, but he took up Ray Palmer’s legacy not Al Pratt’s.

DAMAGE
Speaking of Al Pratt, team powerhouse Ethan Avery’s codename has nothing to do w. Al or Al’s son Grant Emerson. Damage is the name of the Military project that gave Ethan his powers.

FIREBRAND
Bonded to something called a Conflict Engine, lightning bruiser Janet Fals shares a codename but nothing else, w. Rod and Danette Reilly, the Firebrands of WWII.

VIGILANTE
Street Leveler and wildcard Dorian Chase named himself Vigilante after his late brother Adrian, not Greg Saunders, the urban Cowboy who served as one of the Seven Soldiers of Victory.

THE FLASH
Resident speedster Lia Nelson’s a native of Earth-9, hiding out on Earth-1. She has no Speed Force connection, she’s made of pure light. Though she’s met Jay Garrick she didn’t get her codename from him.

Nice line up Riv, I would love to see a Titans 3000 book. I enjoyed Justice League 3000 book. I might make my own version of Teen/Titans 3000 team soon.

In the far distant future, the Teen Titans legacy has still carry on by a team of four powerful individuals who use their abilities to protect the world from all type of threats ranging from metahumans to alien to mystical threats. Jama has drawn the mythical essence of the Titans to find suitable candidates to stop an upcoming evil entity that will threaten the entire universe.

Titans

Captain Thug

Alec Swannick shares a mental relationship with Robins throughout history via sci-magic by his girlfriend Witchie Poo. Alec prefers to listen to Dick the most and has taught Alec everything he knows such as deduction, stealth, hacking, martial arts, strategy, etc. He is the Tactical and Strategist of the quartet. There is time that Jason, Tim and Damian wants to take the driver seat and usually take over Alec's mind without warning.

Witchie Poo

Jamadagni Renuka is a genemage (homo magi) from New Azarath and is the descendant of Raven who has the innate ability to empathetically manipulate the source code of the universe to shape reality to make magic. Renuka has received prophetic visions that an evil demonic entity will return to the mortal plane to conquer worlds.

Prosthetic Lass

Gabrielle Marin-Reyes was caught in a terrible accident that her parents implanted her brain into a decommissioned advanced picotech military war machine infused with fourth world technology that imitates her lost human body.

Dead Pretty Boy

Hikarimono is basically a living corpse who has an energy parasite from Tamaran IV in his brain that allows him to tap into electromagnetic and plasma energies as well as converting thise energies into immense strength, speed and flight.

What era would they live in? It would be cool if you put them before the legion.

Did a Rangers inspired build in the Marvel thread, but I like this one better.

Instead of the west, I’m using an urban setting w. characters to match.

The origin is mostly the same where Solomon Grundy (in for The Hulk) is rampaging through Detroit. Five conveniently nearby heroes hear the emergency broadcasts and converge on the scene, manage to work together, and drive Grundy off.

Afterwards they have the ‘hey maybe we should make this a thing and form a team’ conversation.

TURBINE (Texas Twister)
Both characters have cyclonic powersets they can use to fly at high velocity and as an offensive weapon.

SKYROCKET (Shooting Star)
Kinda sorta similar names and outfit themes. Both use high tech devices; advanced guns for Shooting Star and the Argo Harness for Skyrocket.

FADE (Phantom Rider)
Fade has the spooky factor going, as he looks like a ghost. He’s alive though, able to turn invisible, fly, phase, and see a few seconds into the future.

WILD DOG (Red-Wolf)
He’s got the canine motif like Red-Wolf; Wild Dog’s a crazy ass vigilante gun nut yeah, but his heart’s in the right place (behind a Kevlar vest).

FEVER (Firebird)
The young Asian pyrokinetic isn’t as religious as Firebird, but she’s pretty powerful, and has Doom Patrol training so she’s not a complete noob.

Tbh, I have not thought of an era that they could set in. I was thinking maybe they can be set in a post-legion era because IIŔC there was a Robinbot in one of the Teen Titans animated shorts and I think that character was set in Year 1 billion.

How about re-create a Wildstorm team with more DC characters, but keeping the spirit of suh team? We have seen was has been done with Team 7 (New52) and the Authority, Stormwatch and so. And no, WildCATs was mostly Wildstorm characters.

Just for fun, The Golden Age Teen Titans…:

ROBIN
Was there even a doubt? Golden Age to Modern Age, Dick Grayson IS the Titans.

FURY
A Wondrous young woman w. Godly origins this is Fury’s least convoluted form.

SANDY
The Golden boy and Speedy (who’s busy on the Seven Soldiers) have silly codenames, hot tempers, and wind up w. new hero personas down the line.

THE BOOM
Jay Garrick’s daughter Judy is a kid yeah, but she’s also a Flash. She’s a kid Flash.

NEPTUNE PERKINS
Perkins is one of DC’s few straight up mutants, and an aquatic one to boot.

Nice! I tried to think of who would be in a Golden Age New Teen Titans. After Salem in the Raven spot, I hit a brick wall.

Tim Drake, remembers he left some things undone on one of the worlds he visited when looking for Batman. Deciding to go back, he begins working on his dimension hopping suit when Bunker shows up for a visit. He argues with Tim about going alone when suddenly the old Young Justice Super Cycle shows up as well along with Kon, Cassie and Bart. The four young heroes demand to go with Tim who says he cant take that many people, just then the Super Cycle lights up as if to say he can take them all. Finally Tim relents and allows his friends to go with him. They all depart and arrive in Louisiana where they find Anita Fite who has been able to re-age her parents to their proper age. They are all confused about why they are there and not where Tim wanted to go until the cycle reveals it brought them there and she is needed. Finally the team departs.
Later after completing their mission, Cassie says she guesses they have to go home now and Bunker says Why? Aren't there any other worlds or planets that need help? The group all agree that they dont really feel like they fit in anywhere at home with no real mission, they all feel like Outsiders and agree to visit other worlds and see who needs saving...

Was discussing Arrowette seemingly coming out of retirement in the upcoming Green Arrow book in the DC forum, so I figured Hell if that’s the case I’ll use her in a build.

Here she is leading a group of ne’er do wells, tweeners, and angry heroes loosely based on the Thunderbolts when Hawkeye took over after quitting the Avengers during the Busiek era.

ARROWETTE (Hawkeye)
One of DC’s more underrated archers, Cissie King-Jones is back and (heh heh) aiming to make this a formidable team.

ATOM SMASHER (Atlas)
Yeah, he’s been shown to have a bit of a temper, but he’s working on it.

STAR SAPPHIRE (Moonstone)
At one one point, when Carol Ferris operated as Star Sapphire, she took on a villainous mirror persona, but that hasn’t been an issue in ages. I mean, it’s not like that personality’s been hiding inside her all along waiting for just the right time to re-emerge…

SILVER SWAN (Songbird)
Empowered by the Greek God Mars, Helen Alexandros has the face of a Botticelli, the body of a Degas, and the voice of an Angel.

IMAN (Mach I, II, III, IV, V…)
A gifted engineer who went to College in America on a Wayne Industries scholarship, Diego Irigoye became an astronaut for S.T.A.R. Labs. After his mother was kidnapped and murdered in Mexico City, Diego built an armored suit reminiscent of a Harrier Jet, captured the killers, and became the superhero Iman. His sometimes extreme methods of dealing w. criminals have put him at odds w. his Country’s fellow heroes, which has served to piss him off.

LIGHTNING (Jolt)
At 15 Ayla’s the youngest member of the team, but she’s been through some stuff. She and her brother were held prisoner and experimented on by an evil organization; her brother was murdered not long after they escaped. She’s a living generator, able to store, unleash, and (mostly) control huge amounts of electricity. Ayla’s taken to hanging out w. the reclusive Tar Pit.

TAR PIT (Charcoal)
Joseph Monteleone‘s asphalt body is super strong and invulnerable. He can heat his body to about 900 degrees, fling flaming chunks of tar, trap ppl in his body, and emit toxic chemicals that can injure or incapacitate opponents. Joseph never wanted any of this. In Keystone City he’s a Rogue, but somewhere else might be a fresh start. Self conscious about his appearance he keeps his distance from his teammates, except for Ayla, who’s pretty easy to talk to.

A Kooky Quartet type team put together by J'onn J'onzz, looking to reform and/or guide three young metahumans.

MARTIAN MANHUNTER (Captain America)
Like Captain America, J’onn’s the heart of his team (he just gets no respect), and would be looking to keep the League going.

LIAR LIAR (Scarlet Witch)
Emma Deropalis’ psionic ability to create illusions can intrude on reality itself. She can unleash psi waves powerful enough to shatter concrete and steel. Her most easy to abuse power though, is mind control. She is after all, the daughter of Maxwell Lord.

CAPTAIN BOOMERANG (Hawkeye)
Owen Mercer’s the trash talking son of the original Captain Boomerang. He’s played at being both a hero and a villain. Thing is, J’onn doesn’t play. Owen uses a wide variety of trick boomerangs, each w. their own special properties, and employs them w. masterful skill.

BOLT (Quicksilver)
Unlike other speedsters who can run at superspeed continuously, Alinta taps into the Speed Force and gains speed in short bursts, making her a "Speed Force sprinter”. She’s been targeted by Amanda Waller, and is headed for a dark future. J’onn’s gotten a glimpse of that future and is determined not to let Waller anywhere near Alinta.

My Justice Society Odyssey story will be more magic oriented than space focused.

JADE (Jessica Cruz)
As Alan Scott’s daughter, Jade’s a JSA legacy, empowered by the mystical Starheart, and has major leadership skills.

POWERGIRL (Starfire)
The beautiful, powerful, kickass alien warrior is always fun to have on a JSA team.

SANDY HAWKINS (Azrael)
Veteran JSAer Sandy Hawkins’ prophetic nightmares have been especially vivid recently, and connected to this mission.

AMAZING MAN (Cyborg)
Another JSA legacy, Amazing Man’d rather be back in New Orleans, but can’t in good conscience refuse the team’s request for help.

MORDRU (Darkseid)
I’m betting the inexplicably good for some odd reason long time JSA enemy will go back to his evil ways before all is said and done.

I didn't even know this thread existed. I hope this fits the topic properly.

A few weeks ago, I was mulling around the idea of The Super Friends done with newer versions of prior characters, and jokingly came up with Super Friends 2.0.

In place of Flash, Impulse.
In place of Aquaman (Arthur), Aquaman (Kaldor)
In place of Roin (Dick), Robin (Tim)
In place of Batman, Nightwing
In place of Superman (Clark), Superman (Jon)
In place of Wonder Woman, Wonder Girl (Yara)
The updated / rebooted Wonder Twins
In place of Green Lantern, Teen Lantern

In France they call the Suicide Squad Royale with DEATH!

Anyway, this is a French version of the team, based on the line up from the first DCEU movie.

FRANCOIS BORILLON (Rick Flag)
A veteran Govt. Operative who busted a bunch of corrupt higher ups across multiple Agencies, doing the right thing but screwing himself out of any future career oportunities. His ”lateral promotion” in the wake of his actions was getting put in charge of the Squad.

GUILLOTINE (Katana)
Due to an ancestor's evil bargain w. Demonic forces, Giillotine’s forced to wield a cursed magical sword that constantly tempts her to kill. She at least tries to use it for good, though. Case in point, acting as Borillon’s body guard on the Squad.

BABY KILLER (Deadshot)
Ex-agent of Euroforce Mikhail Zamoska’s a 60 year old Polish Special Forces General; a highly trained stone cold killer. His mind’s in his own amped up clone body, age 14. He was caught freelancing (assassinations and kidnappings) between missions and sentenced to the Squad.

PRINCESS PYTHON (Harley Quinn)
She’s the flirty feisty femme fatale, who cracks wise on everyone around her to the point it’s actually kind of shocking when she suddenly shoots/stabs/uses her 30 foot rock Python “Precious” to asphyxiate someone. Caught commiting a crime in England, she was deported to her native France where she struck a deal to join the Squad.

BATROC THE LEAPER (Captain Boomerang)
The self styled Savant of Savate, Batroc is seemingly goofy but is actually quite a clever mercenary/criminal. In terms of skill, well, he’s gone, (heh heh) toe to toe w. Captain America, which is, (heh heh) no small feat!

DR. CROCODILE (Killer Croc)

The President in exile of the African Country of M'bangawi, the powerful cyborg w. a hideously scarred face has agreed to engage in a set number of missions w. the Squad, after which he’ll lead them in a surgical strike against the rat bastards that deposed him, get back control of his Country and free his ppl.

BEVATRON (Diablo)
The Squad’s energy weilder, who doesn’t want to use his power. Being murdered and coming back to life’s made Bevatron very paranoid, and even more cowardly. He was quite happy in his cell at a supermax metahuman prison. The other Squad members are constantly trying to goad him into “unleashing the beast”. Thing is, if and when the former Hellion does so, and remembers how good it felt to fry ppl to a crisp, they might not like what happens next.

A Quest type team based on the great eternally late Battle Chasers book.

SUPERGIRL (Gully)
The strongest little girl in the world, Ariella Kent‘s been targeted by evil forces, and they’ve been chasing her through time and space.

PHANTOM STRANGER (Knolan)
P.S. has that George Clooney silver fox thing going, and he’s been around since Biblical times so he fits the old guy magic user bill.

THE SHINING KNIGHT (Garrison)
A time displaced Arthurian Knight w. enchanted magic resistant armor and a sword that can cut through damn near anything.

WARBOX (Calibretto)
Because every little girl should have a teddy bear!

ENCANTADORA (Red Monika)
A sexy dressed in red thief who trades in magical artifacts. Her latest scheme has her running into the others, and trying to make the Shining Knight blush.

DC's X-Factor.

A government superhero team tasked with metahuman-related crimes.

Grant Emerson/Damage - The leader and Havok equivalent.

Frances Kane/Magenta - Second-in-command. She takes the Polaris role with both being women with power over magnetism and mental health issues they struggle with.

Billy Numerous - The Multiple Man equivalent with power of duplication.

Wallace Rudolph "Ace" West - The Quicksilver equivalent with super speed.

Tom Bronson/Wildcat - The Wolfsbane equivalent. Kind of serves as the Strong Guy equivalent since I can't think of a good equivalent for him.

Russell Wolf/Chindi - The team's engineer and Forge equivalent.

Dakota Jamison - The government liaison and Val Cooper equivalent.

This is REALLY good!
Damage as Havok is such a great pick! You got my creative juices flowing; I want to try this one!

Okay, here’s what I came up with…:

DAMAGE (Havok)
I just HAD to use Grant for Alex. You totally nailed that one. I was curious if I could do the rest of the team without heisting any more of your guys, though.

AURA (Polaris)
Aura’s a Chinese American heroine w. magnetic powers. She was in consideration to be a Titan once, but Cyborg vetoed it, calling her an underage binge drinker. Well, she’s 21 now, and still loves to party.

FREIGHT TRAIN (Strong Guy)
Both guys have the same basic kinetic absorption powerset. Both have worked as bodyguards. Both wear sunglasses. Both talk a lot of smack, though Freight Train isn’t so much funny as confrontational.

DOUBLE TROUBLE (Multiple Man)
D.B. generates fully functioning copies of himself. He doesn’t suffer if any of his copies is injured/killed but THEY feel it is he’s injured. D.B. has emotional issues and sometimes thinks HE might be the copy.

WILD GIRL (Wolfsbane)
The youngest team member at 16, W.G. has feral abilities, able to jump, run, climb, like an animal. She has enhanced senses, accelerated healing, and surprising strength. She also communicates w. animals.

MAX MERCURY (Quicksilver)
Going w. the original Quicksilver. Max is going to have to be the voice of reason on this team, as most of the others are a little high maintenance, hot tempered, inexperienced, etc.

Ha! I also thought of Freight Train as an equivalent to Strong Guy. But I thought of Silent Majority as analog to Multiple Man.

There was Old Man Logan and The Last Ronin, and I just thought of Garfield because he shares the same name as Wolverine and he is usually a light-hearted prankster like Michaelangelo, this concept is based on the old man logan comic with some influence from the Logan movie for this concept.

Beast Boy (Old Man Logan)

One of the very few last surviving members of the Titans, in an event that legends have called 'Titanomachy' where the villains participate in a 'Titans hunt' where they decided to hunt down and kill the premier heroes of Earth. Garfield has lost so many people in his life, and the amount of mental trauma changed him both physically and mentally now no longer the fun-loving prankster he is a motivated and focused individual with an arsenal of both the animal and protist kingdom.

Deathstroke (Hawkeye)

Garfield's greatest archnemesis and frenemy. Slade now retired from villainy will teach him how to use his powers effectively so he can avenge his fallen family. He believes that with his powers he can be an apex predator.

Psimon (Mysterio)

A powerful psionic, he uses his power to tamper with Raven's mind with illusions and manipulate her mind into a demonic state killing most of her comrades.

The Mutants (Hulk Gang)

A gang of thugs who will beat up or kill people when they don't pay their rent on time, they work for their grandfather, the Blockbuster

Blockbuster (Hulk)

No one knew for sure what caused his drastic change, some say that it was a powerful variant of the formula that made him. He is a powerful mob boss that rules the city of Bludhaven.

Athanasia al Ghul (Kingpin)

This Athanasia al Ghul overthrew and killed Damian Wayne (who was a peaceful ruler) when he became too weak to defend himself. She now rules the League of Assassins with an iron fist and gains control of most territories.

Respawn (Spider-Bitch)

The son of Deathstroke tags along with both Logan and Slade. He secretly tends to take over the LOA.

Jayna (X-23)

This version of Jayna is the daughter of Beast Boy and Raven who was created by Brother Blood using an alchemical mix of both advanced science and sorcery in their covert facility, N.O.W.H.E.R.E., The Church of Blood have been worshippers of Trigon or the red, Sebastian decides to kill two birds with one stone by using both former Titans' DNA to create a powerful specimen to unlock the true power of both the Red and Trigon. Sebastian theorized that Garfield's genetic code is the key to unlocking the true power of the red by adapting to Raven's cambionic blood. He intended for her to be a living portal/key for the red so she can be served as a key to control and dominate all life on earth.

Mammoth (Caliban)

Former enemy of the Titans, Brian now felt remorse for his actions, N.O.W.H.E.R.E enhanced his meta gene and now can sense metahumans within his vicinity he is being used as a hound for hire by various territories so no metas can ever be a threat to their rule.

Raven (Professor Xavier)

It was a toss-up between either Mento or Raven. The amount of emotional trauma from the 'Titanomachy' released a wave of destructive energy which put her in a vulnerable state, The trauma she endured can sometimes interfere with her empathic/telepathic abilities. Garfield offers himself as her caretaker and provides her with empathy and compassion like she did with him when they were younger.
I've got two words for you.

Courtney Whitmore and Maxine Hunkel are BFFs, and Jakeem Thunder’s always been tight w. them. Currently Courtney and Emiko Queen are on an adventure together and shown to have great chemistry.

I just thought it’d be cool if these four were given a one shot or a mini to kick some butt.

... this is one of the most inspired and brilliant origins I've seen for a while. That should be the real back story.
My priority is enjoying and supporting stories of timeless heroism and conflict.
Everything else is irrelevant.

Thanks, Midnight. Appreciate it!

With both Jayna and Gar having the same powers as well as Raven and her connections to the Church of Blood it helps to create a backstory and connect to the Titans' lore. Brother Blood has created a new body for Raven before, and I felt that Brother Blood (and the Church of Blood) could get the best of both worlds by having a child who has two genetic donors in both Gar and Raven that allows her to have an innate connection to both the Red and Trigon, the best of both worlds.

IIRC Raven had a "son" so he can be reworked by having a similar backstory that I gave to Jayna because her origins and powers are completely independent of Gar but it is an elseworld I imagined for her and a lot of characters have been reimagined so it's pretty much fine.

Taking the Secret Six and Suicide Squad formula of using an ld not superhero team names to create a different team:

The Losers: A group of unlucky superheroes who tries to make good but with little.

Triumph: his ironic name put him in a team of d- list forgotten/forgettable characters who nobody want to deal with:
The Gay Ghost: When he choosed his name, word gay had another meaning. Now, he has a bigger name problem than Captain Marv... I mean, Shazam.
Human Flying Fish: He got tired of being a villian, so he wants to try to be a superhero now. But he choosed the worst team to join in.
Brother Power: The living mannequin from a past era, with problem to adapt to the modern times.
Red Bee: New holder of the belt with the bees, she thought than having a belt with trained bees and joining a team of heroes was enoguh to be famous. She was wrong.
Mind-Grabber Kid: Not a kid anymore, but still actig as a kid.
"I used to be with 'it', but then they changed what 'it' was. Now what I'm with isn't 'it' anymore and what’s 'it' seems weird and scary. It'll happen to you!"

Doom Patrol Jr. is a group of young super-powered misfits who specialize at handling the weird. Handing out missions and providing support from their HQ is Joshua Clay, ex-Special Forces Solder, gifted surgeon, and a DP veteran.

Good looks, shave, haircut, and superhuman stats aside, Cody Driscoll has a LOT of demons. His entire Universe has been “rebooted” multiple times. In each Universe he’s had an arm ripped off, sometimes both arms, he’s become a villain, he’s been killed off. Thing is, Cody’s one of the rare ppl who REMEMBERS these reboots, and he knows he always comes up short.

Shyleen Lao was on a short lived version of the DP, and doesn’t even know what happened to the rest of her teammates. She’s a powerful pyrokinetic whose powers are unstable, which means she can never ever lose control. Right.

Stanley Dover was an average kid when he was bonded to his Monster (a demon from Hell). Years in the Monster’s close proximity have slowly changed Stanley physically (taller, leaner, paler, jet black eyes and senses that work on a magical level, superior speed and strength) and mentally (he’s gotten kinda creepy albeit in a friendly way). The Monster, when summoned, will fight to the death on Stanley’s behalf w. It’s incredible strength, fangs, claws, and ability to move through shadows.

A team based on Marvel’s Freedom’s Five using DC characters.

BEEFEATER (Union Jack)
The thankfully more competent ancestor of the modern day Beefeater, complete w. Power Rod, an ancient family heirloom.

BLACKHAWK (Phantom Eagle)
The mysterious, Polish born WWII fighter Ace, one of if not the, best pilot of his era.

THE SHINING KNIGHT (Sir Steel)
No matter the era, no matter the team, Arthurian Knight Sir Justin always fights for justice.

JUDO MASTER (Iron Fist)
The name says it all. He’s a master. Of judo.

THE MUSKETEER (The Crimson Cavalier)
Many a French citizen has taken up the Musketeer name over the years, none of who are connected in any way. It’s just a cool name and one that would easily come to mind when creating a secret identity.

The Defiants

A group of metahuman teenagers who reject the hero/villain binary to look out for themselves and each other.

Seymour Peterson/See-More: Inspired by the HIVE agent from the 2003 Titans animated show. He can fire optical blasts to stun or burn enemies. He can also see across the entire electromagnetic spectrum, as well as other planes invisible to us. He is the team leader.

Milos Buzek/Doorway: Inspired by Kid Wicked from the 2003 show. He can open up warp gates that allow him and anyone else to travel to different locations and has the potential to access other timelines and realities.

Zalika Otieno/Hack: A former member of the Suicide Squad. Gifted with the power of technopathy.

Danny Chase/Phantasm: After being revived from the dead and spending some time as a mass of psionic energy, Danny Chase has spent the last several years honing his telekinetic powers to make sure he is never victimized again.

Billy Numerous: Possessing the power to make duplicates that are mentally linked together, Billy is a one-man spy network.

Tara Markov/Terra: A geokinetic with severe mental health issues she is trying to deal with.

A Shazam Squadron, So...
In For Solomon- Solovar- That Nice old King of Gorilla City. Always seemed wise to me and he was awesome in COIE
In For Hercules - We'll Go with Big Barda
In For Atlas- Atom Smasher
In for Zeus- Lex Luthor- Lex is awfulllly capable. Certainly he could be accused of having a God Complex and Zeus has never impressed me as a very nice person so... Lex does throw in with The good guys now and then.
Achilles- Superman. Both Invincible except for ridiculous weaknesses.
Mercury- Max Mercury
Now With Mr. Tawny the Talking Tiger!

DC’s short lived seventies era Champions team…:

CAPTAIN MARVEL (Hercules)
Herc, not as popular as Thor. Cap, fans like Supes way more.

WONDER WOMAN (Black Widow)
Russian Kung-Fu lady spy. Amazon Kung-Fu lady. Why?!

HAWK & DOVE (Angel & Iceman)
One bird, and one’s an ice guy. Two birds, and one’s a nice guy.

METAMORPHO (Ghost Rider)
Johnny Blaze is a demon on wheels. Rex Mason hates how he feels.

Pretty cool!
I’d get rid of Supes and Tomorrow Woman though.

Re-imagining The Forgotten Heroes as a Defenders style non-team.

I took four of the original members and added three new ones to replicate my favorite Defenders line up.

IMMORTAL MAN (Dr. Strange)
He’s the 50,000 year old reincarnating mystery guy w. Low level hypnosis, TP, and TK powers. He gathers the team whenever he needs a hand.

CONGORILLA (The Hulk)
The team powerhouse, a man turned monster. While usually displaying an acerbic wit, he can go full beast mode while in battle.

RICK FLAG (Namor)
As a hardcore Military man, he believes he’s always right. He routinely gets into it w. Congorilla, who blithely tries to punch his way through every situation instead of following the damn plan.

RIP HUNTER (Silver Surfer)
The most cosmic guy on the team. He travels time and space, and has inside knowledge on how the DC universe works.

VALDA THE IRON MAIDEN (Valkyrie)
The forgotten supporting character and love interest of the equally forgotten Arak Son of Thunder has made her way to modern times.

BLUE JAY (Nighthawk)
They don’t come much more forgotten than the The Champions of Angor. Whenever someone does remember Blue Jay they usually use him as a punchline.

CAT GIRL (Hellcat)
Catwoman’s forgotten sidekick Holly Robinson is an exceptional thief, and was trained in h2h by Wildcat.

When Batman (and the rest of the Big 7) are kidnapped by a mystery villain, Tim Drake ends up getting some Old School help from a group of heroes who after saving the day (cuz you know they will) may or may not decide to stay together as DC’s Liberty Legion.

ROBIN (Bucky)
The sidekick on a big time rescue mission.

THE VETERAN (Blue Diamond)
This guy can get run over by a tank and get back up. He and Tim Drake are friends and when Tim comes to him for help The Veteran pulls out the old Rolodex and gets to dialing up some of his old WWII cronies.

COMMANDER STEEL (The Patriot)
His exploits during WWII has inspired his family for generations, w. several of them taking up his heroic mantle.

BLACK CONDOR (Red Raven)
In another life, on another world, Black Condor faced off against the Nazi menace as a Freedom Fighter.

ICICLE II (Jack Frost)
Like his dad back in the day, Icicle II happily fought the JSA. Getting married and becoming a dad himself though, has seen the young man go from full time bad guy to semi retired good guy.

LIBERTY BELLE (Miss America)
Jesse Chambers is a JSA legacy, as strong as her mom and as fast as her dad.

PLASTIC MAN (Thin Man)
Seemingly immortal, Plas has been annoying friend and foe alike since WWII.

MAX MERCURY (The Whizzer)
The Zen Master of Speed didn’t get the accolades Jay Garrick did during WWII, but he’s okay w. that.

Never done an Annihilators build.
I was gonna do all original characters and still might, but went for a character swap this time out.

KYLE RAYNER (QUASAR)
I was gonna use Kyle as Nova (both young space cops) but I think he fits better as Quasar in this case.

ERADICATOR (Beta Ray Bill)
The not quite human character who has subbed for Superman on occasion.

ORION (Gladiator)
I was actually going to use Zod here at one point but I’d already gone w. Eradicator and didn’t want to double down on Superman family characters.

THE RAY (Nova)
The Ray’s powers lend themselves to adventuring in space. Plus, Nova’s a human rocket, and the Ray is as fast as light.

INFINITY MAN (Silver Surfer)
A very powerful, aloof space character. And besides I wasn’t going to use Black Racer, ick.

MONGUL (Ronan)
As long as being w. the team benefits Warworld’s interests, I figure Mongul will go the Ronan route and work w. the heroes.

The All New All Different Outsiders.
When the team (Black Lightning, Katana, Metamorpho, Cassandra Cain, The Signal, and Geo-Force) go to investigate a strange power surge on the living island Kooey Kooey Kooey, only Geo-Force manages to come back, his memory fried as to what happened to the others.

Batman, busy headlining 40% of DC’s books, gives Geo-Force a list of names he’d considered for team membership at various times, and Geo-Force sets out to recruit them for a rescue mission.

GEO-FORCE (Cyclops)
I picked the King of Markovia because he’s the most Cyclops-y of the Outsiders at least in terms of looks. Both guys can fight well above their weight class w. their powers.

ISIS (Storm)
The Egyptian born one time Queen of Kahndaq is a literal goddess, w. control over the elements. She’s an ardent human rights activist who’s made quite a few powerful enemies across the globe.

Dark Crow (Nightcrawler)
The Canadian ex-Mountie is quietly competent, well trained in weapons, tactics, h2h, and can summon an avatar in the form of a giant crow made of pure darkness.

OMAC (Colossus)
The young Cambodian emigrant is a skilled scientist and former Cadmus employee. He can “Omactivate” into a huge super strong nigh invulnerable form.

JOE PUBLIC, ARGUS (Thunderbird, Wolverine)
Though they have completely different power sets, these guys fill the same role on the team as brawling badasses.

Joe Public can draw on and store the strength and energy of the ppl around him, till he tops out at about 5x as strong and fast, w. invulnerability to match. Around metahumans he powers up that much quicker and for longer periods. He can focus his power to weaken a specific individual as he fights them.

Argus is about 5x as strong and fast as he was before acquiring his powers. He’s not invulnerable but heals 5x faster than normal. He can see in all spectrums, kind of like a Predator, and detect stress points in objects. He uses titanium alloy nunchaku, which weigh 100lbs and w. his strength can cause great damage.

Like Thunderbird and Wolverine these guys make each other redundant, so look for one of them to be killed off almost immediately. Spoiler alert, it’s gonna be Joe Public.

POHZAR, MIRROR MASTER (Sunfire, Banshee)
Rounding out the team are Pohzar and Mirror Master, who won’t stick around too long.

Pohzar is Russia’s version of Firestorm, w. powers to match. Though busy on his own team, The People’s Heroes, he owes Batman a favor.

Mirror Master was a rogue long before he left his native Scotland for Central City and put on a costume. Like Batman before him, Geo-Force hires the mercenary, in this case to transport the rescue team directly onto Kooey Kooey Kooey. Unfortunately he winds up stuck there w. them, and has to fight by their side. That’s going to cost Geo-Force extra.

The original Avengers line up w. a Superman theme.

STEEL (Iron Man)
John Henry Irons, wearing the Uber powerful Aegis Entropy Armor.

HUNTER PRINCE (Thor)
Wonder Woman’s future demigod son, adopted by Superman.

BIZARRO (The Hulk)
The smashing, bashing, Superman clone w. a unique personality.

NIGHTWING & FLAMEBIRD (Ant-Man & The Wasp)
Those two tiny titans from the Bottle City of Kandor.

SUPER SOLDIER, MAN OF WAR (Captain America)
A WWII legend from another universe found lost in Hypertime and revived in the modern day DCU.

An infinity Inc. line up using the Wolfman/Perez New Teen Titans formula; 4 returning/3 new members.

I juggled the individual character archetypes, but kept it four guys three gals.

SKYMAN (Robin)
Well, it was gonna be either Skyman or Silver Scarab as my team leader, and I never liked Hector Hall as SS (he was awesome as Dr. Fate). Anyway, Dick Grayson was the original sidekick, and Sylvester Pemberton (as far as I know) was the original kid hero w. an adult sidekick. So there’s an odd synergy there.

FURY (Wonder Girl)
Lyta Trevor’s history is easily as convoluted as Donna Troy’s, and both are Warrior women w. Amazonian ties. This look for Lyta is really cool, so going w. that one.

OBSIDIAN (Raven)
Both are spooky characters who constantly fight to keep their dark natures in check. Speaking of dark, both weild darkness, move through/teleport through shadows, and can draw ppl into their billowy capes to put a hurting on them.

JADE (Starfire)
Green skin instead of gold, space connections, and both women can be passionate and fierce by turns. Jade blasts away w. emerald energy instead of starbolts.

My “new” characters aren’t new of course, but they were never part of Infinity Inc. and fit the remaining archetypes I need.

JUDY GARRICK (Kid Flash)
A brand new character, but she’s exactly what I needed; a young female speedster (who’s not Jesse Quick) w. ties to the JSA.

TOMCAT (Changeling)
Tomcat’s the team’s young, often snarky comedy relief, and an animal shapeshifter.

CITIZEN STEEL (Cyborg)
He doesn’t have a mechanical skeletal structure like his grandfather and uncle before him, but the liquid metal that accidentally infused Nate Haywood’s body has made him incredibly dense, and so unbelievably strong he has to wear a high tech skin suit to keep him from destroying everything (and everyone) he touches.

Pretty cool. I wonder how two patriotic members (Skyman and Steel, both favorites of mine) will work in the team.

Peace

A couple of alt history teams.

Premise: In the aftermath of the Breakdowns storyline, Justice League Spectacular #1 sets the stage for two new Justice League titles. However, instead of continuations of Justice League America and Justice League Europe, two teams emerged that were similar the contemporaneous X-Men titles...

Justice League Blue

Blue Beetle
Superman
Ice
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Aquaman
Flash
Doctor Light

Justice League Gold

Booster Gold
Power Girl
Elongated Man
Fire
Crimson Fox
Green Lantern (Guy Gardner)
Bloodwynd

such a great concept!
Blue and Gold. I could smack myself for not seeing that! It’s neat how your teams match up w. Beetle and Booster’s personalities. Ted has a more traditional serious minded line up while Booster’s is quirkier w. broader personalities.

THE TERRIFICS VOL 1 48-49
”…tricked into thinking the Terrifics have been murdered, four of DC’s least popular heroes, Blue Beetle, Wild Dog, Damage, and Hot Pursuit have been gathered by the villainous Madame Rouge (disguised as Phantom Girl) and sent on a mission to collect the item she is searching for, under the false pretense that they are seeking out the Terrifics’ killers".

I like this version. Mine looked like one take out of the Dark multiverse.

Sure man, it was some pages ago, but there are som many teams already than it is comprensible to see some ideas repeated. (It happened to me too and I discovered when I was searching for the image)

Ah, ok! I recall it now!
First (and last) time i ever saw Scratch.
I repeat teams a LOT, though. The premise usually changes; this latest one was going the opposite way Marvel did when they used their four most popular/best selling characters.

You must find the Doom Force special. It was a blast mocking the worst of the 90s extreme tendencies and bad art using Doom Patrol characters.

I remember it being as awful as it looks. A criticism on the Image/90's excesses, full of gags such as the arrow "mysteriouisly suggesting" a death in the cover.

Peace

Even in the title was mocking the style("dooM FORCE"). Mignola seems like had fun imiting ROB!'s pencil style.

He prob. switched to his offhand to get the art style just right.

You know, the really weird thing is, it’s actually a fairly powerful team!
Thanks for turning me on to this book.
