NAME- Tom Shavel
GENDER- Male
DISTRICT- 8
AGE- 14
FAMILY INFO- Tom's parents abandoned him when he was a baby, which forced him to live in the community house. To this day he has no idea who his parents are.
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE- Tom is kind of small and has dark brown eyes with dark rings around them. He has pale skin and is always frowning. Some people think he constantly looks mad, others think he's constantly sad. He has thick, shiny black hair which he likes to flop in front of his face, almost blocking his eyes. Unfortunately, his prep team cuts it much shorter.
BACKSTORY- Tom was left outside the Justice Building when he was only a baby. He was brought to the community house and raised there badly. Since he had to be among other kids, he was constantly bullied and forced to give them half of his already skimpy meals. As such, he has become incredibly underfed and bony. There are rumors that Tom's parents were killed in the rebel attack that occurred a few days after he was found. However, there is no way to know whether that's true or not.
PERSONALITY- Tom is very mysterious. He rarely talks to anyone else, so most people don't know what he sounds like. The few times he does talk, his words are short and barely intelligible. He's mad at the world, specifically his parents. Sometimes when someone repeatedly bothers him, he will snap at them. He feels really lonely, but doesn't know what other way to be.
CLASS- Pretty low, like most other orphans at the community house.
REAPED OR VOLUNTEER- Reaped
REACTION TO REAPING- He was more annoyed than surprised or scared. His thinking was somewhere along the lines of "the universe has already made it clear it hates me, so I guess this was bound to happen". He walks up to the stage scowling, but not much more than that.
TOKEN (why is it important)- He doesn't bring a token, because he doesn't want to remember his life in District Eight. He sees the Hunger Games as an escape from that.
STRENGTHS- Quiet, underestimated, okay with being alone and still for long amounts of time, used to hunger.
WEAKNESSES- No experiences with nature, no experience with weapons, not strong, can't swim, not charming.
ANYTHING ELSE THAT'S IMPORTANT- Despite the rumor his parents were killed as rebels, Tom believes his parents are alive. He really wants to see them (even though he's super mad at them) and he hopes that that will be what he gets from the Games.

BACKSTORY- Marine’s family is extremely old fashioned. They believe a woman’s place is at home. When Marine was born they named her Marina, when she turned seven she refused to be called anything but Marine, eventually her family agreed, Marine’s father held a high place at the academy and publicly voiced his sexist opinions. The academy let him be because he was great at training the male trainees. When Marine first learned of the academy she snuck out of her house to join it at age twelve, picking up a seashell along the way. Marine quickly rose in skill level until her father found out about her training. They made a deal if Marine could stay in the top five in her grade at the academy she could continue to train. Marine managed this feat and was picked to volunteer before her older brother.
PERSONALITY- Headstrong, easily angered, aggressive, competitive

Albin had been originally born as Althea Ainsley; Daughter of two fairly well off district 9 farmers. It never felt right, however, to be a girl for Bryce. It took a while, but Albin came to accept that he was trans, and began to gradually become who he is today-Bryce. His mother, father, and grandmother were all supportive of his descision, and he has been happire ever since. Well, as happy as someone living in the 12 districts can be.
PERSONALITY-
Albin, despite his often brash, cutthroat attitude, is rather shy and passive. He has his sassy moments, where his sarcastic attitude gets far too ahead of him; but he's a quick learner. He can tell who he can push his boundaries with, and he can respect when others are annoyed with his presence. Nonetheless, when he's not fired up or exhausted, he's more than welcome to let out a chuckle and a smile with anybody who is willing to. His aura is almost sleepy and warm, and yet he's as sharp in wit and senses as he can be. Albin is (internally) sweet and inviting, available for those who need to chat in between everything and nothing at all. His empathetic genetics can kick in here, where the emotions of others dictate his own mood and persona. However, when he is in his much more mellow state of mind, he is in no way extroverted; he won't just search out anybody to talk to. If somebody wishes to communicate, they will have to come to him. The same thing goes for his abrasive side, though it's not uncommon for him to become ticked off by strangers.

You said this was bad, but I disagree. This chapter was very good, and I want to find out more about both of these characters. I thought it was interesting how Scorpius thought everyone was saying bad stuff about him, and they actually were all crushing on him. I feel bad for Jess, Scorpius was glad about her being reaped because he misunderstood her. I also laughed really hard when Tessa got excited that he glared at her :). I can't wait for District Four, I hope you get her soon! And I would submit to the District Nine space, but I still need to submit a bunch of reservations and I have plenty of tributes who aren't even in the Hunger Games yet.

I like how both of these characters contrasted with the two from District One. These two haven't even considered the possibility that they might lose, and both are more open to the Games. I can't wait to read District Three.

I like how both of these tributes were Careers who were against the Games, which was refreshing. They seem to have similar views, so I wouldn't be surprised if they became friends during the Games, especially if they're both part of the Career pack.
