I'm really enjoying your exploration of Link's feelings about being used. He's at once frustrated with people's expectations of him (even/especially those of yhe princess) but he also understands that his mantle of Hero puts so many people at ease. He keeps going aeound in circles, being unsatisfied with his position and then accepting the burden as it's for the greater good, and then feeling pressured again. Very nice.
Also looking forward to Vaati's redemption lol

Link says Urbosa WASN'T someone he could put all his faith in... is that a typo? It seems a little weird for Link to go from fondly remembering her love for him to saying something so negative without a proper connector like "but" or "however". It reads likeLink loved Urbosa. He couldn't tell her anything."
Wait did you just insinuate that Vaati is taller than Link? No way. Absolutely not. I refuse to accept that. I must have misread.

These kinds of adventure stories always make me apprehensive because I feel like I would never be able to figure out a good purpose for the adventure, rather than just... I dunno, something that sounds terribly fanfiction-y. But I commend you for taking on this task.

I will say I didn't realize this was a romance, and I'm a little disappointed, because your prose is particularly nice to read. I guess I mean that I would have liked this to stay more neutral, especially since 50% of BoTW's main story is that the power of the goddesses is unlocked by Zelda admitting that she wants to fug Link, lol. But oh well, I'll live!

If I may nitpick, the written Hylian language in BoTW is based on the English alphabet, while the Hylian in the Toon-styled games is based on the Japanese syllabary, right? In that case, would it not be far-fetched to say that Vaati's Hylian and Link's Hylian are different, if not mutually unintelligible (maybe like the difference between Mandarin and Cantonese)? Obviously this doesn't really have a place in your story, but it's fun to think about about a character from one era having trouble understanding a character from another. Maybe I should just buckle down and write about it myself lol.

Something I notice about a lot of tumblr/ao3 writers is that you guys are the absolute best at stream of consciousness writing. I only WISH I could belt out this sort of flowing, brilliantly organic prose on a regular basis. Instead I go for the Victorian gothic approach to trick people into thinking I'm sophisticated (but it's very clear that I'm not, otherwise I wouldn't be writing in Victorian gothic lol)
