The audacity (or rather stupidity) of some people... This is fanfiction! Fan. Made. Fiction! And a very good one I think. Of course there will be differences, this is exactly what fanfiction is about! Because you watch or read something and think "What if it was this way... What if she did that...", so you write your own version. OMG really some people!
Dear fanfiction writer friend, please don't listen to those weird people, they are little Miss Bingleys, all of them. Fanfiction doesn't even have to be good (yours is a good one imo), the characters may even act out of character, it may be about an alternative universe if you wish, etc. etc. I think those people are not really getting the concept of fanfiction. You don't need to say you're sorry, this is something you do for your own fun above else, people can choose not reading it if they don't like it, or they can go and read the book itself if they are so bent on how everything should be as they were in the book. Not even the dramas or movies follow the book exactly word to word most of the time. There is the movie Pride and Prejudice and Zombies for Gods sake!

Darcy needs to stick with business and estate dealings because when it comes to personal matters he isn't very bright.
As far as canon- I've always wondered why Darcy's improvement after Elizabeth's set down never carried over to politeness when Darcy was finally in company with Mrs. Bennet again. I thought he would attempt to recommend himself to Elizabeth's mother instead of reverting back to the man in the mask staring out the window. I guess there isn't that much love in the world.

Argh...Darcy is still at it. Once again, he wants to watch Jane for any regard she may hold for Bingley before confessing all. Isn't that how Darcy got in this predicament in the first place- believing he can decipher Jane's feelings? Darcy just needs to man up and tell Bingley the truth.

Miss Bingley wants Darcy to hurry back to Pemberley so he can spend more time with them/her when they have been living with Darcy the past nine months. Eleven months if you include Netherfield. If she hasn't captured Darcy during that time then it's safe to say she never will.

I can understand Darcy blaming himself. At this moment Elizabeth could easily assign Darcy's fingerprints to the trails of two sisters. Jane's heartbreak (I will never understand what took Darcy so long to confess to Bingley), and Lydia's downfall. I know fanfiction will say Lydia would have ran off anyway, well that's always up to the writer.
I can also throw in the Bennet name taking a hit in the town of Meryton due to the two incidents mentioned above. First, with the gossip around Bingley hasty departure. Then, Lydia's elopement. I don't want to lay everything at Darcy's feet, but he could have made a difference. Therefore, I can understand why Darcy will feel insecure about his chances with Elizabeth.

I haven’t commented or reviewed you book thus far as I have been enjoying it too much to stop, however after reading your rant at the end I felt I must post something. Your book is very well written and as you are writing it following Darcy and not Elizabeth you will have to make up scenes that would not be in book or film as these follow Eliza for the most part. You are also right in saying that this is a FanFiction click on any other story on this site and you will get made up stories that will follow books tv shows movies and even games. As for this story it is very good and I will now get back to reading it as I am really enjoying it x

I am very impressed with this story. It fits so perfectly with the work of Jane Austen. I always wandered about Darcy's inner thoughts after leaving Netherfield, after the rejected proposal. It is a perfect fit for the puzzle that is the story we all know and love.

I have very much enjoyed this story. The BBC version is my favorite tv adaptation and I picked up in the first couple of chapters that it was your base. Great job of showing all of Darcy's struggles and character development while staying true. Thank you for writing it! Also loved how you made it blend right into the start of the actual book to show Elizabeth's side!
