What you just did with contracts makes the whole contract thing idiotic. What use is a magical contract if you can break some minor point to coverup that at the same time you violated the most important and fundamental reason for the contract in the first place?
The scene with Nott at the bank was just as bad. Why was he even allowed a lawyer? What purpose did the lawyer even serve there and why was she allowed? This wasn't a court of law or a free negotiation, I don't remember any lawyers dealing with the Goblet of Fire. That magical contract was simple. You break it. You die.
The effect of this chapter is that either magical contracts as you originally presented them as one of the main premises of this fic, are either a joke or Harry is a fool and Daphne is completely incompetent as a lawyer.
