Wow, what an impressive piece of poetry. I love the sheer amount of literary knowledge and references in this, but I also love your writing style - it reads just like an old poetry ballad, like "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" or something, and even the references that I didn't know were written in a way that made them feel exciting and interesting. This is an excellent tribute to books and their power to transport us to other places and times. Wonderful work.

Ah-ha! Sophia is (back at college?) and writing more poetry!
:) :)
A lovely dream-like wander through a wonderful bookshelf. Have you been reading J.E. Flecker's "Old Ships" poem?
But - but - but - there is a book missing from your virtual shelf that is on mine and I think you'd love it! Go and find a copy of Megan Whalen Turner's "The Thief" (ignore the middle school rating) At Once!
Then progress to the rest of the series ;D I think your mom might enjoy them too, given Harry Potter... :)
