After a long year of reading and re-reading, I finally caught up for this!
Before I get to my review, I want to say thank you for continuing to write this story. It was this fanfic that made me get back into fanction writing. I was busy with other things (becoming a Vtuber, getting married, etc.) over a couple of years. I was a different name before I changed it to match my Vtuber name, so I did post a review here before.
Anyway, to the review; the truth was finally revealed! I think King is just a total fudging son of a nice lady who should be punished for his crime (and I can't wait for an epic duel from him). Dr. Koagmi, though unforgivable for what he did, is trying to amend his crime. However, this chapter also confirmed that Yuji was the one who caused the major fire incident that destroyed a big part of Den City due to his connection with Zarc. The only question I have is why the other Dimension Dragons seem to hate Viral Dawn Link Dragon? Something tells me that Yuji (and Hanako) are a bit different from the other Yu boys and the girls because we know that the original dimension was split into four, not five, but the truth is it did split into five dimensions. The question is why and how. It looks when we solve one mystery, two more pops up!
Anyway, I can't wait for the next chapter, where I think it is about Lancers trying out in Link VRAINS! I hope see new duels in the next chapter and onwards.

If Ryo isn't Yuji's Academia rival, then who is? It is Nightshroud or someone else?
Who's going to be Ryo rival, the one who will defeat him in the future? It is Yuya or the strongest duelists in their respesctive dimensions like Reiji, Jack or Ryoken?
Also, if Ryo is one of the three Academia's strongest alumni then who are the other two? Is Nightshroud is one of those two, and if he did then who is the last one? Could it be Yusuke?
If Ryo isn't Yuji's Academia rival, then who is? It is Nightshroud or someone else?

Lots of big reveals in this chapter on Dr. Kogami starting the Collective to Expose his and Kings crimes of the Hanoi Project and that Ryoken also being part of the collective. Wonder how Go Onizuka will react when he hear about everything that was revealed in this chapter.
And That King was responsible on how Yuji became a Broken Person and that cause him to go berserk into causing the Fire Incident 8 Years in the Link Dimension.
Great chapter on this big reveal on everything.
And it looks like yuji is going to teach the other Lancers in the next chapter about Speed Duels.
And to your question in this chapter I would like to see Blood Shepherd’s Drone Deck made in real life.

Amazing fic, I binged this for last few days and writing a somewhat detailed review based on all I have read.
Introduction to our protagonist Yuji with his team Go and Hanako plus Ryoken. I admit Yuji didn’t seem interesting at first, an unemotional robotic character playing Yusaku’s deck but gradually he started growing on me and by the time of XYZ arc, he has really connected with Lancers and calls them his friends. I loved you taking time to develop Hanako, from wearing Nature Queen persona to finding her own courage. Your Go was awesome, kept true to his S1 Vrains persona, playing Gouki (I hated Dinowresler and his S2 regression) and his helping character development of Yuya. Ryoken is himself, albeit a more restrained and less unhinged version due to his father and Yuji.
Regarding Yuji’s deck, I like it. Has focus on Cyberse, Code Talkers and with dragon pendulum and Viral cards, has good Viral Dawn support. Viral Dawn Link Dragon works as good ace monster, nothing OP and works well in his deck. Primal Dawn is also good upgrade. I also liked that you had Yuji lose to Reiji, I hate Gary Stu protagonists and as Arc V theme, it’s okay to lose sometimes. Plus, this also showed Yuji has still a lot of room to grow and he’s gradually growing. He has got all summoning methods down, and I like you are keeping him to predominantly link summon, keeping him to his roots.
Thanks to Yuji’s influence, all Lancers are showing good growth. I like what you did to Sawatari, he’s still arrogant with overinflated head, but he resognises his limitations and showing character development with learning Ritual, Link and XYZ. Gongenzaka is also showing growth with Ritual, XYZ and Link and Serena too. Yuya also showed a lot of growth and his desire to made friends with Yuji and make him smile, and link monsters Encryption Paladin and Odd-Eyes Dawn Dragon were born of his bond with Yuji.
As for story, I liked Standard arc. Synchro arc felt bigger than usual, with lot of 5Ds legacy characters and more duels in friendship cup. I also liked OG duels, like Go vs Kurosaki and Go Vs Yuya. Kiryu is definitely the character I loved in Synchro arc with him fueling Yuji’s growth and allowing him to get satisfaction. I liked your XYZ arc, with Cobra being the primary antagonist of the arc, I hated canon xyz arc for how short it was. I felt there could have been more Zexel legacy characters because it felt they were quite less in proportion to 5Ds and GX legacy characters, but I think it worked fine. As for link arc, Sol allying with Academia was a surprise and it would put Yuji and lancers in conflict with Soulburner who I like and other link duelists. Revelation of truth of fires and Bohman being Dr Kogami was a surprise. Even though I sympathise with Kogami, he still put people in Coma in Collective so I think of him as grey character. Akira most likely contacted Ghost Girl and there is potential of Ryoken and Hanako coming to link.
I am excited to see how you’d go through link arc. I am also curious about our Lancers in Standard and other dimensions and what they are upto. Would love to see more of Reiji and what other lancers have been doing while Yuji and Yuya were going through xyz and link arcs. Great fic.

This chapter was certainly interesting as it explains the whole story of how the fire in Den City happened.
I was honestly sure that it was a secret project that Dr. Kogami was involved in, but unlike canon, he wasn't participating voluntarily, and Tsukasa Hideki, aka King, is despicable for what he did to those children without remorse.
I also didn't expect Yuji to be one of the children and that more context would be given as to why he feels empty, definitely there has to be a King vs Yuji, even though Yuji doesn't know he hates King, at least he knows that King has to be stopped. Although I get the feeling that King still has a couple of Aces hidden away.
As for Ryoken knowing from the beginning that his father was the leader of the collective, it makes sense, he is perceptive enough to know that.
As for your question: I don't remember the other archetypes that appeared in the previous Yugioh anime, but I can say which VRIANS archetypes I would like to see become real, which would be: Stormrider, Drone, Hydradrive, Topologina.

This plotting is quite strong, and it shows. I do still have questions about how Dr. Kogami and the other guy developed RSV, because iirc the other dimensions only got it because of Akaba Leo. That probably ties back to the existence of the Link Dimension in the first place, which I remember Leo being rather surprised by.
As for the QOTC, obviously Hydradrive, Drone, and Armatos Legio, in that order. Hydradrive is cool and is another chance to make that sort of Attribute deck relevant; Drones have a solid gameplan, direct-attacking archetypes are fun because you don't necessarily need to bother with getting over opposing monsters (why I love Lyrilusc), and the Wind attribute is neglected, even if their aesthetic is rather uninspired; meanwhile Armatos Legio have the strong aesthetic of Hydradrive and the viable gameplay of Drones, plus Yugioh hasn't exactly overused Rome as a source of design.

Damn, it's been a thousand years since I've been to this site. And to return to it on one random Saturday in the newly born 2025 of all time, to THREE whole Chapters to accompany my lonely night. To be real with you, the reason I haven't went back here for a whole was somewhat the same as you, lots of burnout and loss of interest, in my case loss of interest in reading in general, College final thesis research does that to a b*tch haha. Anyway, happy to be here again, happy to see this very fun and interesting story continue, and very excited to see how the story goes, like damn, I'm not the smartest person, but I certainly didn't see all that twists coming, and damn do those twists got dark, not enough to turn me off of course XD.
