i suggest you AVOID the never ending WBWL cliché of neglected Harry, spoiled brother (better yet why don't you make it a sister for a change that would've been adorable), sh*tty parents, manipulative Dumbledore, everyone worshipping Dumbledore and thinks he doesn't make mistakes.
Keep making the parents stand up to Dumbledore and his control, don't turn Dumbledore into another dumb control freak villain just make him a misguided idiot but means well.
