(as promised :D)

okay, first of all, how dare you? I need my heart to live and here it is at my feet in pieces? second, I love how you let Haru's crush sort of fade and turn into a more mature and enduring kind of love. "But this time she doesn't fall for his waltzing skills, his gentlemanly habits, his easy grace - although none of them help - but instead she falls in a hundred little moments." - my. favorite. kind. because life is made of mundane things and nothing marks someone out as a true fixture in your life more than the two of you slotting into the mundane of each other's days.

"their cups of tea and starlit moments" - hello? this is so soft? shkhksjkshs s t. "single brief beautiful moments, and he feels it but he does not speak it. Speaking it would make it real. And that would be a mistake." soft pain. SOFT. PAIN.

the entire section about Haru wishing back her heart. just. the entire thing. I know I'm a writer and it's my job to put things into words but what is this emotion? it escapes me.

Toto trying to talk sense into Baron, like yes! "Some things are always going to be temporary. The point of life is to make them worth it." - so true. somehow it's silly that an immortal doesn't quite know this, but it makes sense.

and ohh, they stop dancing around and walking on eggshells. there's a difference between not saying something because you're afraid of it and not saying something because it doesn't need to be said, and even the section itself emphasizes that - by not saying it. you can tell that at some point they've decided to stop cutting themselves on things that can't be and enjoy the things that can, and the mutuality of it makes it all the more significant.

that last scene gutted me. I was NOT expecting that. maybe the apology, yeah, but that last line packed all the more punch for not being the response I thought it would be, especially because it's TRUE. I had to go to a quiet place with a soft blanket and think about this whole thing for a while...

do you know the best part? you managed to convey all that feeling in so few words. you sketched out the picture with such talent that the pencil lines are enough to imply the rest. it ties into the title and mood so amazingly. uGH how.

Yasss angst :D this was beautiful and heartbreaking and how dare you :)

You put the passage of years and a lifetime so beautifully in such small bitesize pieces. I also enjoyed how Haru moved on with her life and yes how there was only a hint of actual romance there very subtlety done. A lovely piece bravo.

Ps - post more stuff :)
