Wow! I loved this! It's in a summary style, with no dialogue or "in the moment" scenes playing, but I enjoyed it! Usually, I find "summary" stories are a slog to read, but this was well-paced. I love the idea of Christine going on to marry a man who we never meet beforehand in cannon - nice touch! Very original! I also love, love, love that Erik never fully overcame his demons. With someone as deeply traumatized as him, I find it highly unrealistic that he would ever live a fully recovered life.
My favorite line:
"I became his favorite instrument, and he loved to coax new songs from my throat with his cold hands and twisted mouth."
I only found two typos:
"He WAS a striking figure,"
"THE the mariner"

Thanks, Jennyfair, didn't need my heart today.
Bittersweet and perfect. I love tightly-written reflective pieces that imply a great deal without having to say it. Glad you wrote that it was not an immediate transformation, but one that had setback and took work on both sides. Loved that bit about entombing her voice like a gift for kings going to the afterlife. Marcel sounds sweet and I'm glad they had a child together, and understood each other's past and pain of loss. Poor Renee must have wondered at so much.
Lovely piece here, lady of talent. Bravi.

Ugh. This is the perfect blend of adorably sweet and ripping out your soul. I love this style of writing too- years condensed down to snapshots of moments. You handle this style very well.
I especially like the bit with Christine's daughter and the questions she could not answer. She had to have wondered what was going through her mother's mind in those moments.
This was lovely and wonderfully done. Looking forward to more!
(This is a-partofthenarrative from Tumblr, btw :D)

I literally cried, and this gave me just the hint of depression I needed in order to write my own fic! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Brava, beautifully written and tastefully done.

Simply stunning. That's all. No other words needed.
(Did love the princess with 3 suitors though).

HOW DARE YOU
This was SO beautifully bittersweet! You've painted a lovely picture of their love, and the realities of moving on. I didn't approve my heart being crushed today, young lady!

Well, you already know how I feel about this, and I'm so glad that you posted it! It's beautiful and sad and sweet and poetic all at once. My favorite part is the very end (no spoilers, but those last two paragraphs kill me every time).
