You should put a line break in between the authors note and the chapter to separate the two make it easier to read. Because, as of right now, the text from the chapter and the authors note blends together, making it hard to discern where the chapter ends and the authors note begins. Putting a line break between the chapter and the authors note would help to alleviate this issue.
This an overall good story, though the dialog is very stiff. Practice writing dialog and you'll get better at it.
