I cannot help but compare how their relationship is different from the one with Raoul. Here, Erik is attentive and doesnt pressure Christine to spend more time with him. He understands and sympathizes with her. Raoul did neither.
Their domesticity and plain love for each other is so endearing. They truly care and respect each other and their opinions.
