Ahh - honestly, at first I was not sure if we had jumped in time to when they were a couple - thankfully you qualified that they were still "just friends" by having him refer to her as Miss Shirley. I was kind of excited at the idea of Dr Blythe taking extra care to soothe his beloved wife from the toothache. Is this going to be a story that jumps all through-out chapters of their lives?

While I commiserate with Anne here because toothaches are the worst. (Last time I had a really bad one it lasted days and nothing touched it and in the end i had root canal which was a blessed relief.) at least she has ibroprofen, I wrote a story for another character in the 1870s who had to go to the dentist (Herr Zahn, look it up) and let me say that was NO FUN.
Anyway, I'm pleased Gil is there for her and putting up with her swearing.
