It's quite an intriguing concept, and I love the way you've handled it :D Alfred's heroic tendencies, Arthur and Francis being Arthur and Francis, and I love the names you found for pre-colonial Matthew and Alfred. The story Dyami/Alfred told was so sweet! And oh crap! The cliffhanger! Love this!
