I feel like movie!Crutchy's feelings about Jack are very similar to musical! Crutchie's - both of them thing he is absolutely amazing and wonderful and look up to him to no end - but the movie is much more vague about exactly how Jack regards Crutchy. We see him react with care and concern when Crutchy worries that people think he's faking his limp and glance at him fondly a few times, like during his solo in The World Will Know. He's furious on his behalf after his capture, determined to avenge and rescue and even turning his rescue of David from the Delanceys into an opportunity for revenge. But he leaves with Roosevelt without a second glance at Crutchy - it's the Jacobs' he keeps looking at - and their connection is never spelled out like it is in the musical, where we don't have to wonder because they tell us twice that they consider each other brothers. I wonder if movie!Crutchy would be surprised to find out that he's musical!Jack's best friend. I bet he'd be ecstatic. :)

Best line: "I just finished dealing with a different version of you and I'm not in the mood." Poor Spot lost almost all his scenes and lines in the musical, and he's the one who in the movie is pushing and shoving to find himself in the picture in the paper - I bet he wouldn't like it at all. :)

These boys are so confused it’s hilarious! I loved how Sarah just randomly had a bat in her hands and Davey just slowly takes it out of her hand like it happens everyday

Why don't you have the movie Newsies watch the musical and give us their opinion on that? I bet they would be weirded out that they are played by guys ten years older than them with vibrato and everything.
