This was the best chapter yet.
1. Now I don’t know if Naofumi just uncovered the ENTIRE Illuminati or if hindsight is 20/20, but it’s gotta be one or the other, and either way that was badass.
2. Malty is surprisingly tolerable when she’s on your side. I think she maybe kinda might like 1% be staying with Naofumi for altruistic reasons. Baby steps.
3. The cage beastman is cool and is making me question the meaning of free will even more. When he gets out of this cage, all he’ll be doing is getting a bigger one

Random thought but it might take Naofumi longer to unlock his cursed series since unlike canon, he didn't have the start of it on his second day.
Even though Malty's a sociopath, even sociopaths can form bonds with those close to them. They still don't give a damn about the average person though. And yes, being smart doesn't mean you don't fuck up. It can mean you fuck up more if you're too aware of your intelligence. One of the worst I've seen (in fiction) almost resulted in the near complete genocide of caucasians.

And with every step, Naofumi learns more. And with ecery chapter, we see how much maturity these characters are handled by you.
This type of storytelling always pull me in, no matter how long I would have to wait for a chapter. The fact that you worked with a character who was glossed over with a few sentences in the parallel chapter of the original had my attention.
We may not see Farkas anymore, but he was a character that lived and breathed through the brief moment that he had. Though, it doesn’t matter if we see him again or not, his impact has already been set.
Another great chapter, Qinlongfei. I’ll wait eagerly for the next chapter, regardless of how long you take.

I have to sort of wonder how this is going to play out long term, and am looking forward to reading it.
Malty is playing a very dangerous balancing act, and the cards could all come falling down at a single instance of recognition, or when Naofumi meets either queen or shadow, if she does not play it just right.
The other thing... she is being forced to both play this role, and be exposed to his own smarts... I have to wonder how much that is going to really be changing her own outlook and reform her somewhat.

Hmm, a bit much on the internal monologuing side, but that's not really a problem in a fic like this. Looking forward to how Malty interacts with Raphy and later Filo. I'd hazard to guess she'll probably find the latter more annoying, and alternate between wanting to pluck her feathers or tan her ass; as for Raphy, the little tanuki will probably be treated with caution in the event that Malty realizes that the girl isn't stupid. But that's just my guess. I'm not you, nor do I know what you're planning.

I guess either she's still gonna be internally cold towards Filo and Ralphtalia, or slowly she warms up to them, and change perspective of other races. Like "She's just a filthy..." Ralphtalia smiles "disgusting..."
