It is troublesome to think that callous and evil people are the same species as we ourselves. Do we all carry that potential? Could we one day turn into people who will resemble the, ahem, less admired members of our own family tree? Such haunting questions cannot be satisfactorily answered, and therefore it's best to have cake instead. ;-)

*happy sigh* it is just lovely to see these interludes of peace...

Dear Linda, These two chapters are definitely feel-good tales. As you have shown so well, even people who were once enemies can become friends. Utilizing your OCs of Ambassador Tahir and his "fair blossom," Lady Adiva, is an excellent way to do so. Once again you have done a fine job of portraying both Aragorn and Faramir-particularly, alas, in Faramir's tendency to consider himself and his deeds less worthy and heroic than those of others. Thank you for sharing this story with your readers, and I hope you will add more chapters. Sincerely, Darkover

Alas, Faramir would discount his own achievements, but allowing Frodo and Sam to pass despite his father's displeasure likely made all the difference. Had he fallen like Boromir, all might have been lost.
