Not one positive note here and all awful speculation. Ken's in cahoots with Faith now is it. And are Rilla and Ken over? Well I admit it will be a strain on the relationship, but it's perhaps too soon to say it's off altogether. At least I hope so. Nan's broken engagement being a ruse to secure a wedding reception for her sister is a particularly nefarious suggestion. I feel so angry the way the entire family is drawn into this endless speculation through no fault of their own (not Rilla's either). It must be so tedious, especially as it's never anything positive.

Ah National Enquirer don’t get sane - ever. Rilla as a CIA operative, just beautiful.
Irene is bitter, is she jealous? She certainly has it in for the Blythe family. When a woman is jilted it’s uncommon to blame her.

This chapter succeeded in making me a bit sad. Poor Nan. And poor Rilla. It would get grating having all of the obvious things that might be ridiculous but make a person insecure broadcast ad nauseam.

I think what I like about the news articles showing Rilla with her international friends, Nia and Seraphina, is that it makes the world a bit smaller, and perhaps, makes the royal's scope of influence a bit bigger. Of course, the news rags have a vested interest to attract the largest audience possible, so I understand the intrusion on what should be a private outing for this lot.
You know, in thinking of a typical life cycle of events for a man, much less a royal, post-graduation from a master's program is a prime time to introduce the thought of marriage. If anything as I read Kslchen's story, Ken's gonna toe the line and produce an heir at some point.
With regard to Princess Persis, whose name is her greatest misfortune, equestrian studies are not necessarily for the privileged, but perhaps for her particular discipline, it could ring true. My friend's daughter is a professional horse trainer now, having also completed a degree in equestrian studies in Wyoming. She got her start volunteering at a horse rescue as a young teenager. My friend is a "poor person" so I am not sure where the money came from to send her there, but I can tell you she had work immediately, before graduation. So, it could happen, that Persis crosses paths with someone that had to fight for this exclusive education.

2. However, Jordan's coverage irritates me. I can't believe that any reputable paper would actually allow a writer to refer to Rilla as being "good enough to bed his highness" or to say that Rilla "is little more than a good roll in the hay..." Do UK papers really print this sort of thing?
3. Your inclusion of the letter by "(Mrs) HB Donnell" is quite fun. She's so full of herself. Does she really think that anyone cares about her opinions? Hasn't she learned yet?
4. Lastly, poor Nan - still getting covered by the media about her wedding simply because her sister is famous. I'm sure this happens to the families of real-life famous people, but it would really stink! Whatever else there is to say about the British tabloids, they do do the best headlines! Rilla being blamed for the maple syrup shortage is hilarious. Though I hope she knows that golden syrup and maple syrup have different uses so you don't have to choose!
