I knew that someone would see Ken buying Tampax and chocolate sauce at the grocery and get the photo. I'm just waiting for the letters to the editors about who really bought the sanitary items, Ken or the taxpayers.

Strewth cobber, having the royals camping in ya street would be a complete pain. No wonder Paul’s pissed off. It’d be ripper if they’d drop on his Mum at Easter, but.

I agree with Abigail, Ken’s a snag, good to seem him buying the tampons. Is Jordan coming around? Is that a hint that he might even be on her side in the matter of inviting ride royals to tea? Colour me shocked.

My apologies for my extremely late review.

As ever I'm sure you've borrowed some local opinions from canon, but as you know I'm hazy on the details of the later books.

No surprise to find the as yet unnamed Dev in the press this week, that was just too juicy a morsel for you (er the press) to ignore. Good luck to Ruby, though could she pose for classier pics next time. (don't answer, where would be the fun in that?)

I loved the comment about the pigeon fancier club - well there's something for everyone right?. Same could be said about certain online authors I guess.

Your author's note really surprised me. I cannot imagine a newspaper having a pictures like that. And to learn how recently that has been the case in the UK. Wowsers!

it's McGill University, not University of McGill. I hope no one tries to harm George!

I love these extra insights into my favorite AU with Rilla/Ken. I'm so glad that kslchen has allowed you to expand the story this way! For example, nothing was mentioned in "canon" about what Persis wore this year for the family Christmas walk to church. But it is interesting to consider that (of course) there would be plenty of analysis of what she and the other members of the Royal family wore. We see that in real-life when the dress that Kate or Meghan wears for an event is identified and immediately sells out online.

I'm glad that the drug scandal has been rather low-key for Rilla, all things considered. It made me sad in the "real" conversation between Shirley and Rilla about his refusal for a drug test, Shirley correctly commented that his story would become news because of who SHE chose to date. This public attention was not something that he (or anyone in her family) had any choice in accepting or opting out of. So, I'm glad that the RC news blurbs were not scandalously vilifying Shirley for drug use. Perhaps, though, when Shirley's search engine/app gets going, he will get some extra attention for it due to Rilla's automatic newsworthy-ness. (In real-life, Kate Middleton's siblings are known because of who their sister is. So the media attention could help Shirley in a good way eventually...maybe...)

Hahahaha oh Shirley - you know that whatever stunts you pull it will now be newsworthy. Even if you DIDN'T pull any stunts. If someone you know or briefly met or imagined pulls a stunt, you're in the news.

Woot woot for Kara from Saskatchewan!
Quick note: us Saskies definitely do not spell 'realise' as such. It's realize or nothing. ;)

What a great chapter title. The tabloids trying to paint anne and Gil as baby boomer potheads is hilarious .

Dang I lost my first review.

George has good taste, I have it on good authority (my dogs) that bunny brains are very tasty. (No pet rabbits were harmed over the duration of this research).

I love the endless speculation that Toppy or Tatty are making a comeback, especially since there is exactly zero evidence to back it up.

Are Oxford winters milder than NY ones, don’t answer that, I expect they are. Rilla sounds very stylish, I love the addition of the maple leaf on her tam.

So scandalous. ;)

The insinuation that Dr dear is having an affair made me laugh!

Pulling photos from years past in an attempt to bring them out as new - Classic!

AND I think I know what Holland is being for Halloween this year! She has the gown already - but how will I ever find a red wig? ;) ;)

So many good gems in this week's media roundup!
(1) Love the idea of people dressing up as a redheaded Cinderilla for Halloween - even around Yesault. Priceless!
(2) Congratulations to Jake on his geography victory. However, the news header says it is a NY school. Why would a NY school have a geography competition about Canada? (At first, I wondered if this was Dora and Ralph's son due to the over-the-top way that those kids are being educated/tested. But then I realized that Joy and Dan's last name is Raine. So, great job, Huckleberry Jake!)
(3) I am so glad to read an opinion article that supports Rilla amongst all of the judgmental news headlines. It is very true that any person who is new to England has much to become familiar with - let alone to become familiar with it in the constant view of the press. (As someone not familiar with English things - what is Spar?)

Mrs Fletcher's response makes me wonder for her sanity, I mean George is hardly the first kitty to take up residence in Oxford. Jordan continued to muckrake I see. And according to him Gilbert cannot safely eat lunch with an old female friend of the family without speculation of a split with Anne. Still that's the sort of rubbish that is often written, so well done there. The headline list was sadly hilarious, I think we can all picture the screaming print and bright colors of that nonsense, particularly the pregnancy speculation.

Cinderilla Halloween costumes are inspired and so funny.

You ladies are genius. This was so fantastic. I’d love to live in your brain.

Will Rilla be Ken's plus one at Toppy's wedding. Will this be yet another opportunity for the establishment to snub her? Poor Rilla, I do feel sorry for her getting wet on top of everything else that awful afternoon, and snarky newspaper articles won't help. I'm a tomato sauce rather than brown sauce person if we're taking notes.

'Nice' to see Mrs H B Donnell is still in righteous indignation, I do look forward to her reaction when (if) Ken pops the question. I imagine she will self-combust - how satisfying. Pip is a refreshing change with her upbeat comment about young Rilla. (I missed that part from canon, but it must be a cute story.)

Lots of fun as always.
