An excellent chapter as usual. Honestly speaking, this is probably my favorite display of fatherly love on this site. Taiyang isn't being an overprotective ass (like he is in every other fic on this site) he's just showing that he cares for his children, while also letting them make their own decisions. That is what's good father does.
As for which legion should be represented. An interesting idea would be one of the Thousand sons, the 15th legion, being brought over before the legion mutated. It's not a legion that's explored often, and they're one of the more interesting legions powers wise. If you want a berserker type, then the world eaters are also an option. Please don't do an ultramarine though. Then it would really just be a clone of this particular fic.

Good god that was quite the reunion. An awkward and very tense reunion between two veterened-daughters and a very worried stricken father. Like I've said There's far worse things out there even within the Halo x RWBY crossover section of FF. Halo: The Lost Child has a very Young Ruby Rose that was accompanying her Mother Summer shortly before she was killed fall through a Slipspace Portal into a Forunner Instillation deep underground on The Planet Onyx. She eventually after being screened for having a near perfect set of Spartan II esque genetics is offered to join the Spartan III program. She's one of a handful of survivors of Operation Torpedo, Was basically doing the same thing as Noble Six (even met him in training), was on the losing end of the Human-Covenant War for over a decade, Then during the Fall of Reach has Noble Six die in her arms where his last words to her be "I wish we could have been something more". Gets shunted to a Forrunner observatory over Remnant and is told by a Monitor that sounds Suspiciously like Penny to "Help". Meanwhile her Sister Yang has spent the entire rest of her life without Ruby, is convinced her sister isn't dead but nobody believes her. The Fall of Vale is Even Worse than in Canon with basically a 2nd Fanus Revolution being kicked off. Now Spartan Rose has to try and assist after crash landing via orbital insertion, now has a rather Irritable Winter Schnee trying to teach her Aura because the UNSC certainly didn't know anything about it.
Honestly I'm not entirely certain why you're still even here if you have this story so much as I've seen people quit or over far more petty stuff.
There are other options within the crossover section that might be more your speed; Dust and Echos is certainly a big one but that's during the Middle of the war when the UNSC finds Remnant. The Men of Onyx is definitely a good read, though it features minimal interaction with Team RWBY and it sadly didn't finish properly. RWBY: Spartan Assault by Johnnyboy11 is an interesting experience and I especially love the part where Dr Halsey stands up for herself in front of Ozpin and says "You're no Better than I Am" always though she was a bit too hard on herself for the SPARTAN II program (if only just a bit, hey it was in the face of extinction) and considering what her voice sounds like that had to be a nice to the gut for Oz.
Now as for Crossovers that with RWBY that have some interactions between the More "Idealistic" tone come into contact with a more hardened and Pragmatic mindset and setting in interesting ways Then I point you to Fallout especially New Vegas. Dust in the Wind is what most comes to mind with Courier Six falling into Vale about a minute after Roman Robs that Dust shop. Yes it's a de-ageing Fic, with Six slowly adjusting to Remnant and it takes a LONG time (34 chapters out of over 80) for him to finally admit he's from another planet but RWBY and JNPR kept on picking up on little slipups, lots of people don't like how it was done/long It took but thing get interesting if you can get past it. His experiences, stories advice and his gear leave the two teams spellbound. He's slowly working with them over how brutal things can be in the Wasteland and lessons they can learn from his very hard won experience and maybe use it to keep things from spiralling so bad, over 800k words and still going strong. Another is Pit Stop; you probably won't like it but those two teams instead end up in the Mojave Wateland with an Old and Hardened Courier Six who's lost so much from the Legion and is trying to keep these kids from getting themselves killed. It takes a while to get moving since the Author didn't initially plan on it for to be a full story. Lots of mistakes by both "The Vegas Wonder Kids" and Six including a very tense standoff in a Nuclear missile silo that almost ends in disaster. Yet eventually they start to see more from each other's perspectives; The Kids get stronger, tougher and more resourceful and Six is touched by Some of their childhood stories (he gets particularly struck by Weiss and her 10th birthday drama) and she even gets him a decades long alcoholic to stop drinking over her mother's story, he later bakes her a birthday cake. He starts to open up ever so little.

Honestly not a big fan the black and white morality going on with Chief, Ruby and Yang. Far too self righteous killing White Fang to the last. What happened to no no justified reason for killing. Guess all you need to do is slap the word terrorist on someone call yourself a soldier and mass murder is A-Ok. Seriously by the laws of the basically any country what these three are doing just falls under mass murder. Despite dressing it up with "duty" and "soldiering" they are at best a rogue unit in a foreign country committing murderous vigilante acts. White Fang is far from great but to act like they are any better is just sniffing their own farts.

Let’s start with the fact you (and everyone here ?) seem to hate every single RWBY core value about idealism, Why are you here ? Oh it’s crazy that you want to impose your idea on what it should be while complaining that idealist impose their ideas on what should be. This fic is everything RWBY shouldn’t be
Agonizingly bland and unrealistic characters, you admitted yourself for you swearing is natural for you and it shows.
Every interaction is a cringefest that shows you don’t know how normal humans functions. Even LESS idealist characters, like, you can’t fathom they’re not naïve babies and have actual reasons to see the world that way. Ruby should have easily shut down annoying ass MC here. Then again I’m feeling obligated to point out how you complain about characters unable to understand others point of view while doing the same.

Maybe it works in Halo but if You make a crossover respect both franchises spirits, the military mindset biais is disturbing.

Whilst I read this a while back I forgot to leave a review; Blake not lifting a finger around Velvet was one of the possibilities I foresaw. I'm guessing Team RWBY butterfly effect of them Not Joining Beacon until now Jaune didn't have his confrontation with Cardin and his team and he's still after Velvet. Though it brings up something I have had rattling around in my head about the Fanus; why are they trying to be equals when they don't even consider themselves Human? Despite the fact they are so similar on many levels, most don't seem to give off "The Uncanny Valley effect" And can even have Kids with Humans which have a decent chance of being Either Fanus Or Human? They're at most a Human Sub-species in my mind and probably genetically engineered by someone to be that way.
Oh yeah; Ruby and Yang Run into their dad Tai, that is gonna be a fun talk and I'm just wondering how bad it's gonna mess him up. I hope Raven gets brought up so we can see if Yang still has that ghost dancing around in her head. At best this will be like him talking to Vol 9 Ruby but she's gonna be a lot colder and wether she's gonna care enough to talk even about her first Kill will change a lot about the conversation like Ruby asking her Dad if he's killed anyone.

Now as for Ruby and Yang behavior; she basically asked her older sister a while back during downtime in the village "Yang are we Sociopaths?" And the answer was along the line of "Don't think so". Usually if someone has the presence of mind to ask the question in the First place they probably aren't a sociopath as such a person wouldn't even care or of such a thing in the First place. Also the author is Active Duty Military and is drawing on his experiences around others so he's got more insight than just about any of us. Then throw in how if you take a step back how messed up the Childhoods of most of the members of RWBY and JNPR (where Jaune and his 7 sisters and Pyrrah the child athlete are the normal ones) and it's probably darker than Monty was likely thinking of, then Miles and Kerry are shitty writers when it comes to anything mildly serious. Hence Vol 7-8 train wreck with a vol 9 chaser that accidentally ends on "Suicide Good" and then RT collapsed so that's the ending. RWBY is genuinely at this point a huge waste of potential but then again as I pointed out on Dust in the Wind; Monty was driving himself into an early grave with his work style of sleeping at his desk for a couple of hours a day and was probably gonna give himself Deep Vein Thrombosis or something eventually unless he underwent a radical lifestyle change or at minimum just slept under his desk in a sleeping bag for 6-8 hours instead.

Don't take it the wrong way...but you somehow managed to make me hate Blake even more, and that's saying something since I already despise her in the canon version. Here her cowardice and hypocrisy stand out even more, since she joined John only to save her skin, and now she doesn't care to see one of her own being bullied. While I can understand her reasoning, and I think Velvet should stand up for herself, her not telling any teacher about this is just downright infuriating. She blindly follows John's orders so much that she's incapable of doing anything decent without him present, because knowing John he would DEFINITELY intervene. Chief needs to hurry up with Weiss's training because the other three are sociopaths who can't be left unsupervised without having a bomb collar on their neck.

She blindly follows John's orders so much that she's incapable of doing anything decent without him present, because knowing John he would DEFINITELY intervene. Chief needs to hurry up with Weiss's training because the other three are sociopaths who can't be left unsupervised without having a bomb collar on their neck.
