Just some things to consider: I think you're laying it on a bit thick with the HMR's qualifications. It feels like the BAU team should all bow down and worship them at their feet or salute them. I get that you love the show, but don't over-do it.
Not sure if you've ever been to Tahoe, but it's not exactly a big city. It's still in the mountains, with plenty of surrounding wilderness, so don't make it seem like Matt grew up as a "city boy" without any mountain influence.

Wait. What?! Gideon is Reid's father? Since when was that established on the show? I'm very confused, especially since there was an episode where we met Reid's real father.
I'm also curious how the FBI/BAU gets involved, since a single attack doesn't really trump the daily requests they get to catch serial killers. Just sayin'
