I don't like where the story is going anymore. The premise was okay - a modern chemist in Westeros. I wasn't expecting he'd be making explosives, mind you, but I was expecting that he'd use his knowledge of chemistry to create valuable tools to help him progress. Nothing big, just something that would be useful to him. Instead, there's barely 5% of chemistry involved thus far. All he does is magic and alchemy.
Also, I see that you've fallen into the same trap that all medieval-type writers fall into, including GRRM - that the plate armor was way too heavy, cumbersome, rigid, and prevented movement. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Plate armor was superior to other armor types in almost every way, and it never ever suffered from reduced mobility. It has been tested and proven several times that plate armor is just as maneuverable as any other type, and that getting in and out of armor is equally difficult for any armor type. In fact, plate armor was better distributed, meaning that its weight made a person quite balanced. The only thing against full plate armor was the cost of manufacture. It really was hugely expensive, no doubt about that. So no, lamellar platelet armor is NOT lighter and more maneuverable than even half-plate. Half-plate with chainmail sleeves is actually much more protective than lamellar armor, especially against blunt shock-impact weapons.
Also - 12-HOUR run in full military gear? Are you for real? That's 50 miles in a single day, with twenty to thirty kilograms of additional weight. No. Just no. Even the modern-day soldiers run no more than 5 miles 3 times a week, with a single 10-mile run maybe once a week, and only the special few could possibly dare do a full marathon in full battle gear after many months of preparation. Expecting this of every rank-and-file soldier? Yeah... if you want them dead-on-arrival, you can.

Roose Bolton with knowledge of the events in GoT? Hell, the North will change leadership before anyone can say "direwolf" (with Sansa likely being married to a Domeric that does'nt get killed by his half-brother, for instance)... I'd really like to read that.

the only thing I can think to mention is that if Stannis new lockstep legion is based off either the Greeks or Romans they're gonna have a bit of a hard time countering cavalry and other mounted foes. I'd imagine they'd have a hell of a time reliably beating back heavy cavalry, a thing that helped bring about the end what's considered the age of infantry and usher in the age where the cavalry decided the battle instead. I'm interested in how you'll show Stannis ideas for this problem.

If you are doing it a Bolton SI, make sure it starts from early age. It would be really cool to have a Red King sitting on the winter throne while holding a Red Valerian steel sword.

Not every sword style is the same. Even when one evolves beyond the straight means of technique to speed, accuracy, and power, every style is different. Some attack limbs, some attack ligaments, some attack only vitals. It all depends on the personal tactics, and strategic mindset of the individual. To try and reduce all sword styles to being the same IS ridiculous, and you are totally right.

Wow that’s really an impressive chapter and looking forward for Lewis in the upcoming chapter.
Also, if you want to do another SI which needs lots of planning and of course had to start with less power, how about Viserys Targaryen? You need to establish a power base with little to no money all the while running away from assasins and protecting your little sister...
